Such a well written post😊 I totally agree with it, the questions are worth pondering over.
Sonakshi fell in love with a guy who has a complicated life, she chose being with him inspite of knowing everything.
But, Dev is so unfortunate really because he never had the choice. My heart breaks everytime I see him getting scolded for not fulfilling his responsibilities, he leaves no stone unturned for his family and instead of acknowledgement all he receives is some more expectations.
It is so unfortunate to see a child so sincere, loving and responsible as Dev to never have experienced true love of a mother, who is normal like you said.
This boy constantly lives in the fear of disappointing his mother, if he ever does . . Ishwari reminds him of it again, and the worse part is, Dev does not even know. Ishwari is the best mother for him and he wants to be her ideal beta.

Amazing post!
I don't think Sona is unfortunate. She's really lucky. She had it all. An understanding family, warm parents, loving siblings. She was allowed to choose her profession. She was always supported by her parents. She fell in love and that love was reciprocated. Now it was her decision to enter the forbidden territory, the ball was totally in her court. She got a fair chance to get out of it but she decided to stay. That's not unfortunate, that's just...maybe love that pulled her in.

Dev, on the other hand, has actually seen hard days. He has seen his mother toil, he has seen her through the hardships she faced and that is unfortunate. Apart from that Ishwari deliberately reminds Dev about what she had to go through and she twists the story in such a way that Dev feels responsible for her condition(which he's not). And that is unfortunate. Having a mother like her is unfortunate.

I think both Sonakshi and Dev went against their childhood conditioning when they chose to be together. Both Sona and Dev are expected to be responsible, although in different ways. If Sona's father expects her to make responsible decisions for her own happiness, Dev's mother expects him to be responsible for everyone's happiness in the family but his own.

In Sona's case, it doesn't seem like a wise decision, but she has unconditional love and support of her family to brave it. Dev doesn't have that privilege. Dev has to solve everyone's problems but he has to lick his wounds himself all alone. I still remember how he was crying in his room after break up and not one soul in that house, for whom he spent every living moment until then, came to console and support him. I won't wish that for even my worst enemy. He badly needs a companion/confidante, with whom he can share his secrets and burdens and who nurtures the goodness in him.

Wonderful post !!! But disagree a bit😆
Dev was unfortunate to have lost his father at a young age and was unfortunate to bear the brunt of responsibility to get his family out of their condition. But he was fortunate to have a mother like Ishwari who despite not being educated stood tall and fought the world and brought the family out of poverty, gave values to her kids. She must have been really young with the burden of 4 young kids without a roof, without any one to depend on and without any financial support. So many temptations must have come her way. But she never gave in. Her fight and upbringing is so relevant in today's world where people commit suicides even for silly reasons. Isn't that the reason Dev respects her so much and worships her.
Yes now their relationship is not an ideal one and it is true she is suffocating him. But isn't her problem same like having a terminal disease, eating away your health and spirit. The problems that Dev is facing now or the ones Ishwari is showing now is not the disease but the symptoms. He could never leave his mother and it won't be right when she gave her whole life to them. So I wouldn't say he is unfortunate to have a mother like her. Until Sona came in to the picture she was a loving mother to him but with flaws. Only when he found happiness in someone other than her this side of her came up.

But isn't he fortunate to have found Sona, a person who will stand with him and love them both mother and son in spite of all the ruckus she will create because she will be able to understand the problem and treat the cause and will not abandon them. She can do this because she was fortunate to have a balanced upbringing showered with love care and support. She is fortunate to find Dev, a man who will go to any length to bring a smile on her lips without caring about himself. They are both fortunate to have found each other. She had been fortunate her whole life or fortunate enough to have the upbringing to be happy and contented with what they have. She was given the opportunity to decide her life partner. Now it is not a bed of roses and she is encountering many problems but still fortunate to have her love by her side.

both equally unfortunate to be tied to disgrace of woman and mother😡 Dev.. cuase he was born into her environment or brought into it.. we won't know until later. and has lived all his life according to her needs, her desires, her insecurities. Sona... cause she fell in love with him. She was brought up in completely diff environment and knowingly walked into this mess... LOVE makes us blind to logic😉
there is no escape from Ishwari's toxic life unless these two run away👏
