Even for a soap opera where the writers can write whatever the desire -- Ishwari's character is really far out with her active manipulation to ensure her son does not have sex with his new wife!
Psychologically, it is seeming a very incestuous obsession.
So far I have chalked up her transgressions as perhaps due to severe hardships she had to face and she was doing menial labor when raising her children. Perhaps, she has a fear of loosing people/things she loves so she hold them tight. But that does not change a mother's love for her child into an obsession more than love. She comes across as jealous of him and competitive with his wife.
The dialogues written for her are outrageous. The dialogues that the Mami uses towards Sonakshi are even more outrageous. How Dev does not react to either one of these is appalling! I can imagine them taunting her behind his back but right there... Sonakshi's father's apprehensions may not be unfounded.
I feel that this show is becoming a saas-bahu show from ten years back where they torture the new daughter-in-law and she takes it spinelessly.
Ishwari, Dev and his sisters have been very disappointing; Sonakshi is even more. Where is her practice? Where is her education? Instead of transforming a family that is obviously lacking the education standard of her maternal family, she is becoming one of them.
I truly hope the writers realize that they have attracted a modern viewership for this show and these tactics will lead to a decline in viewership. There is so much scope with this story ... Hope they avail this opportunity.
