'A' cube - Ashish, Asha, and Avni

Ashish and Asha realize they are responsible for destroying Avni's life because they decided to live life on their terms. They are realizing that Avni (like all children) is like a sponge and takes in everything whether she is capable of processing it or not. Right now Avni is not able to process her world being shattered and all this conflicting messages about right and wrong. It has just dawned on Ashish (Asha is still clueless) that he has to deal with all of Avni's issues and anger - whatever is happening is the direct result of his selfishness. He may argue with Dayaben that she is keeping him away from his parivaar but he knows that the parivaar he is talking about is not really a parivaar - when he enters the house Asha closes all windows and draws the drapes tight, he does not take of his shoes and does not stay overnight. Whether he admits it or not deep down he knows the fault is not Dayaben - the fault is his own selfishness. Just like Avni, Ashish too knows, that he will not be able to fix this; it will not work out, smooth over, or ever be okay. He knows that he has started paying the price of his selfishness and will continue to do so in the years to come ... ...

Asha is in deep denial but sooner or later she will realize that she is going to be labeled a bi*** for the rest of her life. At some point Avni too will hate her for her selfishness. This means that every sports day, school concert, birthday and graduation there will be this silent conflict between her and Avni. Avni may not say anything but deep down there will be a seed of resentment - just as there was today. Resentment that her parents could not give her what all her friends have - a normal family!
