Changing Dynamics and Priorities

I'm really awed by the makers of KRPKAB for highlighting the changes that are taking place at Ishwari Nivas with the entrance of Sonakshi Bose as the newly wedded wife of Dev Dixit. While there has been a lot of drama off late, the makers really surprised me by staying true to the storyline and the characters they created. Apart from that, they have also made one or the other character become a voice of reason when things seem to go off hand. This to me is a sign that they know what they are doing, and they aren't going to tread the same old path of Desi TV.

The best part about all this is that, in my perspective, I see the three main characters - Dev, Sonakshi and Ishwari - are becoming a renewed version of their original selves. Times are changing, and so are they. They were growing all these days since the show started, however now they have been brought out of their comfort zones. It's like they been put into a battleground where ideals are clashing and their beliefs are shattering. At this point in time, they seem to think that Darwinism is the way of life where only the fittest would survive šŸ˜† But eventually they'll come into acceptance that everyone can co-exist. šŸ˜†

Marriages are complicated, even when arranged. So with Dev and Sonakshi's being a love marriage, some drama should be there after all. Their families don't get along, and grudgingly gave into this due to the wishes of their children. The differences between these families were very much visible during the whole wedding ceremony, and as a viewer it does make you realize how volatile the whole situation was and the impending challenges that Dev and Sona are going to face together. Maybe having the wedding in 10 days was a rush, but it was either now or never as far as far as these two were concerned. In a way, it's good thing it happened like this.

I love DevAkshi and I absolutely adore watching all their scenes. However I always felt that they need to grow up. Love is not just about making promises. It's more about carrying through and developing an even more deeper, profound relationship. While it was cute watching them through their dating phase, they can't remain like that throughout their life. Their relationship has to progress in order to be more complete. That's why this marriage is a good thing for them. It's a call for them to take responsibility for their actions. Plus, it'll make them realize that it's a lot easier to walk away from their problems but takes more effort to fight to stay together.

Ishwari Dixit - a lot has been said about her, but I do maintain that she isn't inherently evil at all and neither will she be this MIL who purposely plots against her DIL (If there's one thing these past few episodes have taught me, it's the fact that this will never be the typical saas bahu drama). For once, I see a MIL who actually fears her DIL. Why? Because she's afraid that she would lose importance in her own family. ( I swear Ishwari will have a panic attack if she ever hears Sona referring to herself as Mrs. Dixit šŸ˜†). This behaviour, though irrational, stems from Ishwari's abandonment issues that she faced so early on in her life. hese insecurities had to come out. While we only got a glimpse of it when Sona was just the nutritionist, we're seeing the real deal now that she has become a part of this family. At most, Ishwari just needs to reconcile the idea of Dev's wife with Sonakshi. Because while Ishwari fears the former, she really likes the latter.

Sonakshi Bose - Yes, she keeps referring to herself as Mrs. Dixit, but for me she's still Sonakshi Bose who is trying too hard to fit into the Dixit mold. I know Sonakshi's behaviour post marriage has been really off, especially with the way she seems to be keen on following all these rituals that she never believed in. But I like how the fact that she is uncomfortable with them is actually being highlighted in every episode. It's being made more obvious than before that she simply isn't made for such things because that's not where her heart lies. She hasn't turned into this ideal bahu overnight where she suddenly knows every single ritual by heart and follows through with perfection. Nope, she is faltering and for the first time in her life her flaws are being openly scrutinized by her in-laws. Things like these do impact you, even when you pretend that it doesn't. I mean here's the girl who was literally the star of her house. As she mentioned herself, her family was simply black and white. Now she finds herself amidst these different shades of grey and nothing seems to be as defined as she expects them to. So for the first time in her life, Sonakshi Bose is lost and confused. But the one thing she knows is that she loves Dev and she's ready to do anything for him. And that itself will help her find the right colours again.

Dev Dixit - I love his desperation. I like that he is openly discussing intimacy with Sonakshi because that's so normal šŸ˜† His frustration over not being able to spend enough time with his wife is real. And I love he has wholeheartedly accepted Sonakshi into his life as better half, along with her family. He sees anything or anyone related to Sona as his own, and he's ready to go to any step to ensure that Sona remains happy. Though it's not as obvious as Ishwari's or Sona's, but I see that his insecurities are at play here as well. He's really not over the fact that he had almost lost Sonakshi. And somehow that's the reason why he is taking every step towards her carefully, without it being overbearing. Obviously I love the fact that he's so attentive to her now and wants to be around her. At the same time, he's also standing up for her as well without blindly following his mom's orders. He knows his Sona and what she stands for and he's not ready to compromise on that. This itself is a huge relief for me as far as Dev is concerned šŸ‘ But I feel his true test will come when the prenup and infertility issues arise. He definitely won't disappoint, but he'll learn to strike the required balance between his wife and mother.

All in all, I'm really intrigued by how this track will progress. I think the team has set this great stage where things are just ready to explode. And once it does, it'll just be a chain of events leading from one issue to another.

very good analysis 😊 I think the prenup will play a major role for Dev knowing the true face of his mother.I don't think there will be any pregnancy track, infertility track will help to grow Dev as a character and Bijoy will start trusting and accept Dev wholeheartedly 😊
