This is why I think whatever Ramakant wants will require Ravish sacrificing his military career. How can he minimise his mother's hurt and monitor events at home if he is stuck fighting a war on the border? Especially considering like he was saying he doesn't know if and when his body will come back wrapped in a flag. Also when we know that there are really long gaps between home visits from the army. Three years on this occasion. His tears were because he has to give up his entire life, army included, for the sake of his father not because he has to make room for Artav and Sujata or give up some of his wealth.

Also for storyline development Ravish needs to be there. Vividha and Atharv's torrid shenanigans will have no real immediate impact on him unless he is actually there to see with his own eyes. I am almost 100% sure we are gonna have retired army Captain Ravish Vashisht soon.
