Maybe for people who don't follow him will expect something else. But after following him for two years this is a exactly how he would react according to me. Actually this is more than he generally would react that too because some fake statements have been attributed to him and he has been dragged into the issue.

What more can he say? As an individual he has the resppnsibility of his family. As a human, he lives by thw rules of the countries he visits. He is not a govt authority to influence anything else about the current situation.

At least FK made a comment although he didn't specify the events in question. There are many actors in bollywood who never say a word about other forms of atrocities happening in the world.
I would like to add that I am not saying stars should be outspoken about these matters. I mean look at FK's case. Until yesterday people had issues over why he hasn't said anything and now he makes a statement and the same group of people are not happy with his words. Why don't they just hand him a script of what he needs to say even if his words may sound hollow.

I love my soldiers, but I do not know how they gain if we reject Fawad Khan. This is a talented actor who, though a foreigner, made a remarkable contribution to India's social evolution this year when he played a gay man in Shakun Batra's uncommonly sensitive Kapoor & Sons, a role that had been rejected by several Indian stars. When I asked him about it in an interview in June, Fawad said: "By not doing such films we simply shut it (homosexuality) away rather than trying to understand it... Besides, with the kind of difficulties we're facing as a global society where we're having trouble getting along, if anything this is just more love in the system rather than adding conflict."

This is the man you wish to shun because terrorists murdered our soldiers? The argument that he has not made a statement on Uri hardly holds water since Indian film artistes usually stay silent on political issues, and those who have spoken up " like Aamir " have been harangued for doing so by the same ideological group largely behind the demand for a comment now from Fawad.

So let us make a deal: feel free to deprive yourself of Fawad or any other Pakistani artist you choose, just make sure you do not bully the rest of us into doing so too.

his words indeed sound hollow ... like a "work for world peace" speech by a beauty pageant.

he didn't even mention the uri attacks or the people who died in those terrorist attacks.

It is not the first time any actor portrayed a gay character in bollywood. actors rejected this role because it was a side role. 😆

if you really want to credit an actor for bring awareness for LGBT community then watch Aligarh by Manoj Bajpai...

I dont understand why he has to say anything in the first place. It is his choice. As a celebrity if they dont speak conformity to what everyone wants they are horrible people. Dont we forget they are normal humans who have a life and opinions.

He said what he had to say. If he had to condemn the Uri attack, then he would have to speak about the Kashmir unrest as well. It is a good thing he talked about bigger thing like peace. After all sane humans want that. And I am sure sane humans exist on both sides of the border.

i don't understand why people have objections when other criticize Fawad for not speaking in India case while he condemned attacks on paris etc.

just like Fwad has FOE other too have a FOE to criticize or praise anyone. It is their choice. 😛

if he had to speak about kashmir, then he would also have to speak about Balochistan.

Loved His Sensible Stand about all the events, its a relief to see sanity prevail amidst all this hate and pathetic jingoism.

Love The name change Shreya. My current feelings for FK are described so well through this song! ❤️
