Akshay Kumar conducts self defence classes for women every Sunday at the Andheri Sports Club. He has been doing this for some years along. This activity was started by the Aaditya Thackeray's Youth Wing of Shiv Sena. This Women's Self-Defence Centre imparts self-defence training to women for their safety and survival.

Whenever the actor is in the city, he visits the centre on Sundays to encourage the women there to take up self-defence seriously. He also teaches them how to protect themselves against any kind of danger. Joining him this Sunday was Alia Bhatt.

The actress also gave a talk to the girls, and spent a few hours at the sports ground talking to the young girls. She spoke to them about the importance of self-defense and being safe and strong in any situation. Akshay showed them some some martial arts techniques and also gave a few words of encouragement. All for a good cause, we say!
