In real life can you imagine a wedding as such ?? Even after months of planning, both bride and groom's parents are bound to hear the complaints be its friends or relatives !! So far trying to keep it real , DevAkshi wedding also cant be different right ! Yes this onscreen wedding is as close to reality as we can get ! It was undoubtedly a visual treat, be it the venue , decorations , costumes of all the cast , last but not least the bride and groom everything was just perfect and beautiful . I haven't seen a bangali wedding before and is totally unaware of the rituals , so as a viewer I was amazed at the attention to details they paid for each shot . That "special thing " on Sona's hand (I am really sorry I don't know its name, is it made of wood? ) when she was first shown , the special sound elders make , kids getting scared with the unexpected shrill and parents trying to calm down, the messy sindoor put by inexperienced Dev 😉( I still make fun of my hubby for the way he put sindoor on our wedding day) , snarky comments about each other during ceremonies everything felt so real for me . But the high overdose of drama spoiled all these efforts . Lets be honest we were excited about wedding simply because its "DevAkshi" wedding , which we hardly get to see today .

The wedding dress fiasco , as much as I respect Asha's words about bengali culture I am not convinced about Sona not wearing the lehenga sent to her by Ishwari . As Ishwari said it was not about the price , its about the feelings associated with it , as Sona told Dev once , it's a way of respecting groom's family .

Today two mothers stole the limelight from bride and groom with their brilliant performances that I cant help but feeling bad for both of them . Asha was a mother who was caught in between self-respect of her family and culture and the happiness of her daughter . When Bijoy was arguing with buaji regarding respect of girls family at the most inappropriate time , she was trying her level best to ease out the tension . Even though she was offended and hurt with Dixits comments regarding their food , she didn't loose her cool and kept her grace . Ishwari- The disappointment in her eyes when she saw Sona, the helplessness , and humiliation she felt at buaji's words and other guests dejection of the food served , yet trying hard for not making Asha feel offended , beaming happiness on her face ,even when she was hurt that Sona didn't chose her wedding dress , looking at Dev who was so happy and excited to get a glimpse of his bride , the final outburst in Dixit house when she couldn't take it any more, as it was the last straw for her finding the fish in her own house , still succumbing to them finally watching the guilty and helpless face of Elena and dada .Brilliant will be an understatement to describe her performance today ! And I have to admit mamaji is an angel in disguise ❤️

But the unnecessary drama took out the essence of the show , when they gave screen space for buaji and GKB and every other characters , we didn't get DevAkshi moments which we were eagerly waiting. Apart from varmaala rasam I don't think , we got enough of them . Dev telling Sona in her ears she is the most beautiful bride , and our sanskaari Sona admitting he was totally looking hot in that sherwani, Dev reassuring Bijoy he would keep her happy always , when a debate was going in between kanyadan (BTW who does that in between a ceremony), Dev and Sona looking at each other while making the promises( Even during Neha's wedding we got to see more of their expressions during vachan) , dada's good bye to Sona , Dev consoling Sona , and giving her a side hug in the car , all these would have made the wedding more beautiful and leaving me happy and content instead of feeling exhausted like I attended a real wedding and feeling thankful that finally its over. But as I said a wedding without complaints is near to impossible be it real or reel ! But I hope makers realize that its not the grand settings or breath taking shots that can make us tolerate these unwanted drama , but DevAkshi moments , and keep it in their mind for the future track !!!

Precap - Even though I am totally aware of the Ishwari fainting fiasco spoiling our lovebirds SR, I am watching it on loop just to see Mr&Mrs Obhodru inside their bedroom !!!! Did I see Sona without earrings , did Dev help her remove it , my imaginations are going wild !!! (well one can always hope right 😉) Is it going to be routine that GKB interrupting them whenever they are behind a closed door !!! 😡

PS: How cute was Dixit sisters today , the most good looking "watchmen" 🤣 , "Raaz 5 " 😆, and Neha's heartfelt "welcome bhabhi " 🤗 .Now that she is officially their bhabhi it will be lovely to watch their bonding !!!

Nicely put.. I concentrate positive things than negative things. Yes so much screen space and dialogues gave to Mami and Bua. It's devakshi marriage they should concentrate more on them. But still no complaints.

The wedding was beautifully shown. Each problem shown in the wedding reminded me of real instances I have personally witnessed in many wedding. From elderly members of the families who are very vocal on their displeasure about anything they didn't like, parents of the bride and groom who feel helpless and cannot say anything in the fear of offending either family members, trying to maintain a balance and to please all just so that the wedding rituals go on smoothly. What I liked was the the way Asha and Saurav tried to handle the food debacle by themselves without informing Bijoy, for the fear of his outburst which may cause more problems. How the bride and groom are kept out of the loop of any issues happening just to not worry them on their most important day. Somehow I was reminded of my wedding, when I watched these few scenes. No weddings take place without problems and so was mine. I remember there were a few issues that had happened which i was informed only the next day and it took many more days to sort them out.
I have a feeling these issues that came up during the wedding will definitely come into light for Dev and Sona in the following episodes and they will be shown dealing with them. Especially when there is GKB and Buaji to keep reminding them of the same. I guess that is what they meant when they said that the wedding might be over but the problems will continue.

I was wondering the same about Sona's earring.. Wondering did Dev help her take them out... 😊 and now GKB interrupts them

Yes exactly..the reason why I loved it was
1. It was real
2. It had blend of everything just like wedding are
3. The wishlist is apt but I wil do without it considering time was less and for some resson I told myself it was my expectation and wishlist and u don't get everything u wwnt at a wedding..kitta bhi kar lo..kuch na kuch reh hi jata hai..but parents do the best arrangements they can..they even go out of thw way to do those..the makers here did the same.. And I am someone who wants to see their efforts and appreciate them than nitpicking coz I have also arranged my sis wedding and I knw what one good positive feedback can do between not so perfect ones
4. Sister were very cute ..I hope they lessen Sona's burden and make her smile when life it throwing new challenges at her .

I appreciate the efforts the makers have taken for making DevAkshi wedding truly the wedding of the year . I felt it was too real especially regarding the ceremonies , it was like watching a wedding video rather than a show since we didnt get to see their lovely eyelocks and close-up shots and secret romantic talks !!! May be editors have to be blamed for this !!! I got irritated in one scene they were focusing on Dev's happy face , before I could enjoy that they zoomed in Bunty , I was like really Bunty ??? 😡 .
