I agree with your post. I too hope that Ek Duje Ke Vaaste works and Sony will continue to have faith in it (since the channel has a history of losing faith in shows and shutting them off abruptly).
While the story itself isn't anything extraordinary or novel, I think what makes it most appealing to me is that the presentation and writing appears fresh and the fact that is is not bogged down by excess melodrama and antics like countless other shows is great. I also love how for a change it is the female lead that was dominating, teasing, and gutsy and hurt the male character rather than the other way around. Both Namik and Nikita are doing well in their respective characters, especially Nikita -- I absolutely adore her portrayal of Sumo -- comes across very effortless and natural.
