I have no idea why i wrote this. I was watching an old episode on hotstar where Shivaay gets poisoned when i thought of this. I am still not sure if it is a good idea to post this😕😆 But here goes.

" I think that we should get her a web cam"

"What??"

Shivaay could hear his normally calm brother shift restlessly beside him, obviously frustrated by what his youngest baby brother was saying.He had to remind himself time and again that he was supposed to be asleep now. A peek at the bedside clock, told him that it was 1:47 AM.

"It has been a week Bhaiyya. I am not getting my beauty sleep because of this. Yeh dekho, I am getting dark circles. Log kya bolenge. The handsome, adorable, charming charismatic Rudra Singh Oberoi is getting dark circles! "

Shivaay could feel a smile form on his lips. He was glad that his brothers couldn't see his face. It would be a waste of time trying to keep a poker face. His little brother never failed to be teased by him for his slightly narcissistic ways but he knew that he himself was Rudra's biggest fan.

"Rudra. What are pillows for?" He could imagine Om's face now. He was speaking through clenched teeth, obviously exasperated with Rudra.

"Sleeping. Aur kya?"

"I love you but i have to remind you that it can also be used for suffocating you"

The lack of sleep was really getting to Om, Shivaay could tell. If he were out of bed, Om would be pacing to and fro , possibly even flicking back his hair unknowingly.

"Theek hein baba, Chill. Ok so what about.. We get her a room here. Then she could just come in and check herself na?"

Shivaay knew somehow that he had followed that sentence with the classic Anika gesture of pointing to his head and thus pointing out his brilliance. He shuddered. Next he would probably have to hear Bade papa saying words like chunt. She had quite an effect on every Oberoi. He wouldn't bet anything against her power on people. He himself was an example. He was someone who had a strict sleeping schedule. He would make sure to get 8 hours sleep every night possible and here he was at 1:53 AM , waiting, because of her.

He felt Om adjust his blanket for him, making sure that Shivaay was not cold. He had failed to understand the reason for his big brother's sudden shudder and Shivaay thanked all gods possible for that. Om did not need to have an image of his father taking up the Anika style.

" Maybe she slept. Maybe we can sleep now." Om suggested, his voice sounding hopeful.

"If my calculations are right, we are going to get one more call before she finally dozes off." Rudra predicted.

Shivaay agreed. He knew that she was still up. God knows how he could tell but he knew it just like he could sense her whenever she was nearby. He had to agree that the coverage area for his Anika radar was quite commendable. He knew that she was in Mumbai now , staying with Sahil. He had gotten into the semi finals for some chess competition which was apparently so important for her that she left his marriage preparations behind to go with him. Once again Shivaay caught himself feeling oddly abandoned at the thought. Selfishly he had tried to make her stay behind to plan his wedding, but Dadi had put her foot down. She was granted leave for a week. He had caught her staring at him when Dadi said this, her eyes accusing. Why did he want her to stay? Why was it so important for him to see her everyday when all he did was bicker with her? He knew. He was drawn to her. So drawn to her that he couldn't imagine a day without seeing her. So insanely in need of her presence that after just one day of her absence, he had gone to bed making plans to call a meeting in Mumbai so that he could have an excuse to seek her out and see her. But that was when the first call came. And it had strangely calmed him down a bit, because it was proof that what he felt was not one sided at all.

As if on cue, Om's phone started ringing and he knew that it was her. He waited with bated breath to hear her voice.

"Hello" Om answered the call on second ring . Shivaay could feel the effort that it was taking Om not to sound irritated. Normally he would be irked by whatever was causing his brother such distress but his feelings for her had made him a bit selfish. He needed to hear her voice. It was the concern in her voice that helped him survive the week. He promised himself that he would make it up to his brothers soon enough.

"I am sorry Om. Woh.. I couldnt help but call.."

"Its ok Anika. We know. Trust me on this he is right next to us and is sleeping. Nothing is going to hurt him."

Shivaay wished Om would let her speak. He needed to hear it.

"I know i am disturbing you. I just keep getting this bad feeling that something is wrong. Even Sahil is fed up of me here. But are you sure that he is actually fine? I mean you know him.. even if the sky is falling down he would take it upon his shoulders to prevent anyone else from facing any discomfort. I am not saying that he keeps secrets from you or anything! Of course its not like that its just-"

Shivaay felt drunk with happiness. He always knew that she was mad but never had he thought that she would make him go mad too. Never had he thought that he would take pleasure from someone's words like this. But it was true that it was her concern which was his fuel now. He could imagine her, biting her lip in worry, her beautiful eyes mirroring her love for him. Yes he knew it was love. It had to be love. Shivaay knew that he looked quite foolish now. He could feel the grin that had formed on his face.

"Anika.Stop." Om cut of her babbling.

"Do you want me to wake him up so you can talk to him?"

Well this was new. Om had never offered to do this before and Shivaay waited, curious to know what she would say. There was a long pause before she answered.

"No i think i will sleep now. Just make sure all the windows are closed so that-"

"So that noone can get in and take your precious Shivaay away. Your wish is my command madam" Om finished.

Rudra chuckled in the background.

He could imagine her blushing furiously.And to his absolute delight she did not correct Om. Muttering something about how cold nights at Mumbai get, she disconnected the call.

Thankful that today's round of calls were done his brothers switched off the bedside light and settled down to sleep. Shivaay was too busy realizing the magnitude of feelings involved with him and Anika, to sleep. He drifted off very slowly, imagining how he was going to tease her for the calls when she got back to her rightful place. With him. Then would follow the unpleasant aspects of the situation, breaking the engagement. But he knew that with her and his brothers by his side, he could do it. He loved her. And this was his last thought before he fell into the deep abyss of sleep, a light smile playing on his lips.

Meanwhile, the masked assassin entered the Oberoi mansion through the back door. He had been paid handsomely by one Miss Swethlana for this mission. The target was Shivaay Singh Oberoi, the business Tycoon whose mansion seemed to have guards in every nook and corner. It had taken him one week to bribe a guard into letting him in. There had been many failed attempts during the week where he narrowly avoided being caught. He moved along the dark corridor until he found the room that Swethlana had marked for him.

He had reached Shivaay Singh Oberoi's room.

No chappals Pleej. I assure you that Shivaay is fine and a fight scene followed, where the three brothers overpowered the bad guy.I am just too lazy to write it😆
