K for kishore: One more TV competition

First of all excuse me for posting this in Zee Saregamapa forum. But this information will be i am sure welcomed by the members here especially Kishoreda fans(like me😃)

Well the big news is, there is going to be one more TV singing competition, this time on Sony called K for Kishore, where the contestants are going to sing only Kishore kumar songs. The show is scheduled to start from 21st Dec i.e, from this Friday!!

K For Kishore : Looking for a legend - The new age Kishore Kumar

A new singing talent hunt show is in the pipeline. Titled 'K for Kishore', the show aims at seeking the new-age Kishore Kumar.

Sony Television, says, "The show is about keeping the magic of Kishore Kumar alive. The show would be telecast across 20 weeks in which several singers who are Kishore Kumar fans and sing like him will be tested.

We are auditioning singers across the country. The one who gets closest to the legend will be the winner." Music director Bappi Lahiri and singer Sudesh Bhonsle will be the judges. The show will be hosted by playback singer Babul Supriyo.

Bappi says, "I chose to be a part of this show because of my long association with Kishore. I am the only music director after R D Burman and S D Burman to be an associate composer with Kishore.

He is a great singer and a great performer. I have learnt the art of performing from him. In fact, Kishore's last live performance was with me at the Filmfare awards where we performed live with 100 musicians. I can claim to know Kishore more than anyone else after his son Amit."

Sony has already started its promos and online teasers for the show. 'K for Kishore' will be an addition to the other reality shows on singing like 'Jjhoom India' (Sahara One), 'Mission Ustaad' (9X) Bathroom Singer (Sahara One), 'Say Shaava Shaava', 'Dhoom Macha De' (NDTV Imagine).

i know... Sudesh Bhonsle looked exactly like Kishoreda when he came to Jhalak dikhlaja finale.... and Babul supriyo hosting...ooh.... cant wait!😳 😳 😳

I wish I had Sony...but I don't...so have to wait for the video here...but yes, it will be worth the wait.Babul Supriyo will be a fitting host for the show...😛

OMG only kishoreda songs!!! that will be great!!! 😊 though i hope they are not looking for a kishore clone who only has a similar voice 😕 , hope talent gets preference and not voice 😊

Brilliant point Kirti... I hope the same too...

The show starts in the same time slot as JDJ in Sony... I just hope that it has a better outcome than what JDJ had...

Yaar the concept is good but seriously, one more music show ??? It seems that we are bombarded with all these talent show programmes, only the names keep changing.

The only diff is that only kishore songs will be sung and the winner will be the one closest to Kishore !

So no women on the show (yawn) ! I only pray that this too is not one of those voting based shows as i know what will be the outcome.

But I think the judges and host are very thanda ! I mean Sudesh & Bappi (seems to be every where), as it is the show will be monotonous with only males and only kishore songs and too add to it these 2 as judges. Chalo lets see how the show goes but honestly, I dont see it becoming a big thing although its at prime time.

whats with this growing crop of singing shows? what i think is if they are looking at this as a entertainment/TRP perspective then they surely should cut down the duration to 12 weeks....coz 5 months period frame is just way too streching....

PS: a maha boring bappida is a big NO !!
