Yup. I loved how she did not get all worked up and took offense with that.

I have respect for everyone who earn something to feed them or their family.

Maid-taxiwala-rikshawala-raste bhi joh stall lehke bet te unke liye... Major respect for those people they work 3 times harder then us and earn less.
I actually salute those people poor but still earning having self respect and working hard!

Yes. Definitely agree that they are underpaid. Friend has a nanny at their house to take care of the kids she doesnt even cook and hardly cleans but is paid $17 bucks an hour. I used to do some plumber work eventhough I didnt had a ticket but just for minor jobs. All paid in cash through kijii ads. My pocket would be stuffed by wads of cash everyday. The guy I used to work for used to drive a Jaguar. There was no such thing as maid looking about either of us. A job is a job. And it cannot be used as a yard stick to measure beauty.

It's a symptom of elitism.

'lower class people' are supposed to be ugly and all things undesirable and it's the worst insult to be compared to them.

This maid insult has been routinely thrown at people, most recently Tannishtha Chatterjee. I see it is mostly directed at dark-skinned people. Here, the scenario is different.

Forget aunty, mummy etc...even 'girl/larki/woman' are used as insults...If a man cries he is called 'don't cry like a girl', or if he is looking weak he is told to 'wear bangles and sit'...so on and so forth...We have tons of such examples in everyday life where women are insulted and no one even gives it a second thought...
