John Abraham was born on the 17th of December 1972 in Mumbai. His father was an architect and mother a house wife. He studied in Bombay Scottish School and in Jai Hind College. He was a sportsman from his childhood and was the captain of his school football team. He earned an MBA and worked as a media planner early in his career. In 2003 he made his debut in Bollywood with the movie Jism. He has been in love with fellow actress Bipasha Basu since 2002.

In his short career John has worked in over 20 movies and has been nominated for the Filmfare Best Debut Award for his performance in Jism. He is currently going through the best phase in his career where his performance in Kabul Express and No Smoking were appreciated.
