Male vs Female fans: Who brings in the moolah?

Hey!

I have seen these point being made somewhat condescendingly by some that female fans do not make a star.

Who helps rake in the moolah at the Box Office (which BW aims for)- male or female fans? Or both?

Do female fans not have the PPP (purchasing power parity) and is that why few films are targeted at them?

When a family makes a decision to watch a film, is it a joint decision or does the one with the wallet speak?

Are male fans more fanatical than female fans? They will riot and physically fight for their favourite stars, like Rajnikanth or whoever it is.

It is said that actresses need a male fan following to succeed, but can the same be said about a male actors? Do they need female fans? It seems like even they need male fans?

Why is there this disparity?

i think if it is a love story then both the leads are equally important
but then if the actress role is too small it is a separate issue
very few female centric films are made now
i think for a family it is mainly the decision of the bread earner
male stars are quite fanatical but i am sure female fans are not very far behind
i think male actors have both male and female fans
