I totally agree with you. The self respect part made me cringe when she was like log kya Kahenge. I get her dark side and all makes sense. But she is modern she should be ok with sharing the marraige cost too.
I feel she wants to put ger ego above everyone. Ive never been a fan of suman right from the beginning. Love shravan though ⭐️

I have to agree with the thread maker. I just can't warm up to Sumo, and have no problem with what Shravan did.

I mean, I sympathize with the fact that Suman has seen a lot of hardships in her life and has practically raised herself up by her bootstraps and thus worries a lot about her self-respect...bu she always winds up looking border line egotistical...🤔

Knowing that there is a rift between her and Shravan, she should not have agreed to the marriage in the first place.

I know there was pressure from Nanu, but even he suggested that they iron out their differences. She could have asked for time to do that. Instead she decided that this could be done after marriage, once they start living together. How? Because she was going to do everything in her power to make her marriage work.

Yeah right!

Marriage involves a lot of compromising. It is not just a union between 2 people, in their case family ties are involved.

Shravan presented the case to her...his family wants a nice wedding. Think of his father...he has so many friends and associates...it would mean so much for his family. Let his family help with the expenses.

But Suman refused. Because her and her family's "self-respect" mattered more to her.

I mean we live in the 21st century...what kind of thinking dictates that the bride's side must pick up the expenses of her wedding alone or else?!?

When asked Suman always says...there's no one to invite from her side...so who is going to backbite if the Malhotras help?

On the other hand, the Malhotras will definitely face many a wagging tongue for the lackluster wedding they invite or do not invite their guests to. They already put up with this during Preeti and Pushkar's wedding.

Really it's too much. Suman needs to grow out of her bullying phase, where she always gets what she wants regardless of how much it hurts the people she claims to love.

I have no sympathy for her...it was about time someone put her and her ego in check and Shravan just did that.

Is it too difficult to understand that she also has her own insecurities too like shravan has his own.we always put the blame of shravan's actions on his past and ramu then why its different in suman's case ??

I don't think anyone is expecting Sumo to be perfect.

Yes...like Shravan she has her own set of insecurities...we can understand them, ie, we can understand where she is coming from or why she is behaving in a certain manner...but at the same time...that doesn't mean her actions are right.

Likewise, when Shravan acts out based on his insecurities or false assumptions...we can understand what happened in his background that makes him think a certain way...but it still doesn't justify his actions.

I agree with you... If sumo is not happy with grand wedding that shravan and his family wants then she should not be sad if shravan wanted a court marriage followed by a grand recption paid from his pocket...

If sumo was willing to hurt shravan then sumo should not feel sad when she is forced to do somethibg she doesnt like.. Right???

Afterall why does it always have to be her way and her self respect.. I actually see no problem if shravan wants to share the wedding costs so that they can have a wedding that both families would like.. Why is it always brides side that should bear all costs..

Yes the court marriage was not right. But sumo has mo right to be upset about it.. My pov
