After 13 years in the Indian film industry, Katrina Kaif has decided it's high time she takes learning Hindi seriously. On Kapil Sharma's show over the weekend, we saw an empowered, feisty, Hindi-speaking Katrina.
Says a prominent member of Kapil's team, "This was an entirely different Katrina. She's been on our shows several times; kuch alag tha iss baar (there was something different about her this time.) On previous occasions, she was polite but aloof. She liked her co-stars doing all the talking, while she made it clear that she would reply only in English. This time, Katrina took centre stage on the show, while Sidharth Malhotra sportingly took the back seat. She spoke to all of us in Hindi, and even chatted with the members of the audience in Hindi. She also kept asking us if she was doing okay. Main theek hoon na?' she'd ask. We assured her she was more than theek!"
Close friends say she took her split with Ranbir Kapoor to heart, but in a positive manner. "Katrina is channelling all the hurt into her work. She's determined to strike back, stronger than ever," says a close pal. The actress apparently also wants to get out of the image of being a lookerand has expressed keen interest in working with directors like Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bharadwaj and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
