Kangana Ranaut to play the lead in movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's One Indian Girl

Kangana Ranaut is known for her strong portrayal of women in the films. Her roles in the films like Queen, Fashion and Tanu Weds Manu Returns bagged her National Award and applause from the film fraternity.
Today, as per a popular tabloid, the talented actor will be seen in a film based on Chetan Bhagat's new novel titled One Indian Girl. After reading the manuscript of the book, Kangana got very excited and she called up Chetan to say, "Did you really write this? It's a wonderful book, a must-read! I'm definitely playing the lead whenever you turn the book into a film."
The Two States writer recalled the confirmation and stated, "Kangana is an icon, one of the finest actresses today. Stories and scripts mean a lot to her. She is known for her take on feminism and honest opinions, and for her to praise my book and want to do the film is a huge compliment. I am really thankful to her for joining me."
The Queen actor will be launching the book in the city on October 1 before leaving for the US to shoot for Hansal Mehta's Simran. Describing the book, Chetan said that it is the point of view of the female's protagonist. He added, "There were several issues that Kangana related to, including the struggles of a contemporary woman, who is forced to compromise for her career."
One Indian Girl is the story of an intelligent, successful girl who struggles to find love. It questions society which judges women achievers. It asks why when it comes to love; being intelligent and successful is often a drawback for women.
The National Award winning actor is likely to start shooting for the adaptation in the end of 2017.

While I don't think highly of Chetan Bhagat, this story fits Kangana like a glove. 😆 Wonder who the director would be? Ideally, someone from Dharma or Phantom should make this.
