Yesterday's episode was a pressure cooker episode. I could see the pressure building on both Dev and Sona to be exploded on Maha Episode...

Dev: Every second passing to Sona's engagement is chipping away piece by piece of his sanity. He knows that he has lost all rights to Sona, but still can't resist clutching onto every single piece he can find of her.

I felt sorry for him when he held onto Sona's bracelet like a lifeline. Unfortunately, he is left with only crumbs when once he had the entire woman completely devoted to him. The worse thing is he knows that he is the maker of his own destiny.

Today when Sona's engagement invitation arrived, just looking at Sona's name etched with someone else made his eyes go bleak. Watching Sona putting the ring on someone else will definitely push him over the edge.

Sona: The impulsive, angry decision Sona took is also building pressure on her of expectations. Yesterday when the wedding was called off, she was sad to see her parents upset, but at the same time slightly relieved. Today the wedding was back on and in such a gracious manner that even if she wanted, she can't say no. Although she tried to make Ritwik's dad to take the decision to break up the marriage.

Her parents expects her to be happy and in their mind it's marriage to a suitable guy.

Ritwik and his family expects her to move on with them and forget about Dev.

And Sona is just hoping to be left alone...

She is trying to hold everything together with the strength of her will. But her heart is leaking through her eyes.

On the other hand, Bose family is happy and relieved to finally get rid of Dixit family forever. Their pressure is off.

Dixit family is never happy all at the same time. If one is happy, another is definitely upset. So I won't bother with them. They are in a permanent pressure cooker they themselves keep on steam.

One thing I'd mention though. The commitment and promises Sona made to Dev, she is still fulfilling them even though she is getting engaged to someone else. She never broke a single of her promises.

Yesterday she doubted on Dev because of his past behaviour. But she asked him outright, he explained, she understood and that was that. The extent of trust required to believe someone's word after he has previously used his money and power to achieve his goals only comes with true love.

Today when Ritwik blamed Dev, she eagerly tried to clear his name by showing the newspaper article. That was not sufficient proof that Dev didn't do it. But he said he didn't and that was good enough. That insufficient proof was enough for Sona to defend Dev in front of her family and Ritwik. That's commitment and Loyalty.

I wish Dev had shown that level of loyalty to Sona when his mother was pointing fingers at her behaviour.

Does he love her? Yes.

Is he suffering? Yes.

But he is not loyal to her nor as committed because he believed being loyal and committed to Sona means not being loyal and committed to his mom... He is also paying the price of that blind loyalty to his mom which he realized after he completely lost Sona.

I am waiting for Monday to see the pressure cooker blow it's gasket.

I absolutely love Mr. and Mrs. Bose. They remind me of my in-laws (although my in-laws are Canadians). Mr. Bose is super protective dad just like my father-in-law. He didn't relent on Ritwik's dad either until he graciously apologized. No one hurts his baby and gets away with it.

And Mrs. Bose is the mother who understands her kids to the core. I could see in her eyes that she knew the reason for Sona's outburst. I think if anyone can be Dev's ally, it's her because I can bet you, Bijoy Bose won't forget or forgive so easily.

On top of that Ishwari has shared with him example of her generosity. Now if Spoilers are true and Ritwik turns bad, Bijoy Bose will think Ishwari deliberately sent Ritwik's proposal to ruin Sona's life.

And if Ritwik is good, I don't know how Sona will get out of the engagement unless Ritwik let's her go. And watching him today how attached he got to Sona, I doubt he will let her go that easy.

Like I said in my yesterday's post, Ishwari has dug a pretty deep grave for Dev's love.

Another thing, I know I mentioned it yesterday but it still irritated me to see Dev asking his mummy for permission to go to Sona's engagement...

And because that scene pissed me off this famous quote by Hansa from my all time favourite show, Khichdi dedicated to our Dev Babu at Sona's engagement: Hello, how are... Khana kha ke jaana, haw...

That scene kinda took away my earlier sympathy on his pain.

Lol you bet ! Again a perfect to the point post.

Today's episode made me feel like a pressure cooker too 🤓 When I want Dev to take Sona's side and do the task of convincing his mommy, Rithwik is saying since he has chosen Sona, it's his responsibility to do that, honestly no, it's not in an arranged marriage, kudos to him for what he did. Things which I want Dev to do, are being done by Rithwik 😡 It's putting pressure on me of shipping for Rithwik-Sona instead of Devakshi which I dont want to do.

Sona-Asha has to be the most mature mom-daughter bond we have ever seen in the television. Dev should learn that a child sometimes does take his frustration away by shouting at his/her parents even when it's not their fault, because it's family. Always doing Maa Maa and saying dialogs like Maa ki puja doesnt necessarily strengthen the bond, it's the mutual understanding and trust which makes the motherly bond so special.

I didn't get why Sona invited to her engagement though. Deep down at heart she still expects Dev to create ruckus on the occasion so that it gets cancelled somehow. That's the only justification I can think of for her action. And by doing this, when she keeps her promise to a man like Dev who doesnt keep any of his necessary promises, Sona has failed in all other relationships - as a daughter -
for taking her family as granted and not thnking about them, and as a human being - by taking someone else's family on a roller-coaster ride of her rocky ex-relationships. If and when Rithvik and Mr.Sen calls off the wedding, for once I want them to tell Sona how mean it was to them. Having an alliance broken on the engagement day is not usual for a middle-class family. Before Sens leave the show, I truly want them to show Sona what she has done to them.

Having said that, all characters in the show are successfully ruined for me My useless 2 cents 😆

I agree with all your points. I was pretty darn upset when Ritwik said that he agreed to marry Sona knowing everything. So it was his responsibility to convince his family. And this guy doesn't even love Sona and knows Sona doesn't love him. Yet he didn't give up. Kinda sucks big time for Dev. Although he gets plenty pity votes, my sympathy well dries out when I see a grown up adult man asking permission from his mummy to go to his ex's engagement. Seriously...

Regarding Sona, I believe her intentions are pure. She genuinely wants to move on and Dev to forget her. Otherwise she'd have never asked Dev to promise her never to contact her again. She also never breaks her promises. So since Dev said that he can move on when he sees her with someone else, she sent him an invitation card.

However, her intentions and will power, both fall weak when it comes to Dev. She should have told him not to come to her engagement because she may fall weak. She will send him her engagement video. He can watch it sitting on his mother's lap. But nope, she is responsible this time for letting Dev come to her engagement and creating problems again even if unintentionally.

On the other hand, I also feel bad for Ritwik's family and Sona's family who have full rights to be upset with Sona.

Well promises were broken from both Dev and Sonakshi. ..both have failed to keep up their promises ...
Both had helpless look when others were bashing their love...Ritvik did say a lot of things about Dev which Sona knows is not true but she did not utter a word ...

Both are ready to sacrifice their happiness for their family ..if Dev broke up with Sona for his mom then Sona is getting married for her families sake ...I don't see any difference between the two ...both are ready to destroy their happiness for their parents

Dev has kept one promise of his i.e never to look at any another women other than Sonakshi and he is keeping his promise. He is still loyal to his love and will never run into any women's arm for solace.
(please note Dev doesn't know his mom has problem with any gal I'm his life .he believes his mom dislikes Sona)

hi Tia... I watched the episode last night, and got assailed by so many conflicting feelings that I decided to go to bed instead 😆

Sonakshi shouldn't have wanted Dev to be anywhere near her engagement ceremony. She thinks it might help him move on, but she SHOULD know how painful it would be for him. And how awkward it would be for her family, for Ritwik's family and for her. If she truly wanted to move on, she wouldn't do that. unless she subconsciously wanted something to happen that would stop the engagement altogether. everyone attending can be assumed to have read the newspapers and it would be a gossipy spectacle to have Dev at that event.

Dev shouldn't want to go either. He seems hell bent on self torture. He looks like a grieving man in the stages between anger and acceptance, having gone through denial. He's trying to fix his mistakes and mend his ship and things keep reminding him of what he's about to lose.

Proud Ishwari is losing her facade of self righteousness in the face of open criticism. She weakly defended herself to Bijoy by telling him of her part in sending Ritwik their way. Was she telling Bijoy that she too wants Sona to move on immediately?

And why was Bijoy so happy after hearing that?? I'd have thought the proud man would have sent the broker fees back to Ishwari a.s.a.p ... that was confusing for me.

Now Sona is displaying anxiety, when everyone clearly told her she can step back.

Asha should have a probing heart to heart talk with her daughter STAT! Or at least Elena should.

Ritwik should also step away and continue being friends first. His father made a grand gesture of apology and all is okay. But all is NOT okay!?

I may be mistaken but Sona was not upset her engagement was at risk. I'm so surprised her usually intuitive family is so overcome in the preparations to see Sona quietly freaking out.

Not so much as a cliffhanger but a big tangled knotted mess we are left with this weekend.

I will have to disagree. Dev broke up with Sona. Sona didn't broke up with Dev. Hence the promise was broken on his side. Once a couple is broken up, the promises are invalid. Just like whether a husband sends a divorce notice or the wife, after divorce he has no claims on his ex-wife or the promises she made to him. It's ridiculous to even talk about broken promises on her part when Dev dumped her like yesterday's garbage and fired her from her job at the first sign of trouble.

Secondly, when Ritwik said that Dev published the article, Sona showed him the apology trying to prove that Dev didn't do it, knowing well that he has done similar thing in the past and is capable of doing so again. Dev not only didn't utter one word knowing very well that he was the one who proposed to Sona, he hugged his mother saying you did right. And this was not the first time Sona has defended Dev's decision to break up. She defended him in front of Elena many times. So please don't compare the loyalty between them. There is no comparison.

Dev chose his mother over Sona and Sona chose her family over no one because Dev was already gone by then. So no, the situation is not the same.

Sona didn't chose her family over her happiness because her happiness didn't chose her. So she chose to make her family happy because she is miserable whether alone or married. So she hoped at least someone gets their happiness.

Dev won't ever run to another woman because where will he meet another woman? This guy has no friends or social life and he is not the type to go for a call girl. His mother would never arrange his marriage and will never bring a girl to meet him. So he didn't run to another woman is a lack of opportunity. That's not to say what he'd do if his mom arranges his marriage. I doubt he will be able to resist much longer then.

I don't know if she subconsciously wanted Dev to stand up for his love at least once or she believed he won't come, but as I said in my post, she should have said no when he asked to come to her engagement and just send him a video instead. It would have saved her family and Ritwik's family a lot of trouble.

I have a feeling, Sona is losing it. To stop Dev's stalking and constant attack on Ritwik, she agreed to a hasty marriage. But she might be feeling that she is on a train without break that is rushing to a cliff at 200 km an hour.

That's the problem with impulsive decision. You always regret them.

Dev is responsible for his own self mutilation. He is using a blunt knife and cutting his heart piece by piece. He should have spoken up or let go long time ago. But he chose to torture himself like this.

I think Ishwari said she sent the match but did not mention that she hired a matchmaker. So Bijoy Bose might think that Ishwari might know someone who recommended Ritwik's family but there's no money involved.

You are right Sona is not upset that her engagement might break beyond the pain it will cost her parents. She is probably even hoping for something that can at least delay her wedding. But it's coming faster than she can prepare for.

Asha has an inclination but I guess she is thinking to let the engagement happen and then she can talk with Sona before the wedding. However she can't stop the engagement now. But if needed she can stop or postpone the wedding.

Although that would be very unfair to Ritwik's family hence Ritwik has to turn negative to make that happen. But like I said that will create more trouble for Dev because Ishwari sent that match and Bijoy Bose won't forgive her or Dev easily after Sona's marriage breaks up.
