Just got me thinking.. is there any other similarities as such between the two although they seem poles apart!!

People Pleasing- In a sense they both want to please their respective families. One succeeds while other fails.

Unassuming- They are both unassuming about their personal aspirations and while Meera never seemed to find something inspiring to her, Abhi is resigned .

Living in present- while Abhi may seem to run on a schedule but it's a very short term thing, like he hasn't planned his life for 5 years or what "he" wants to do for his own self. While Meera is Meera.

Stubborn - Both are stubborn in their own ways.

Very similar and strong beliefs about family system.

I think mostly why they seem pretty, and cute together is because they are similar and they add to each other in that way. They may superficially seem contrasting but they are similar, for me, that is one of the most essential component in making love stories work. Only difference here there are big differences in how they process life , rationality and awareness in general.

Agree. Although Meera keeps repeating kudh Kush rahoge tabhi doosron ko Kush rakh paaoge.. When it comes to her family she isn't like that.

Both of the above- hmm but wouldn't Abhishek be otherwise if his father hadn't abandoned him.

Example??

Totally agree

@ bold- exactly I was talking about the same during that remote control wala episode. Both were yearning for that pat on their back.. Someone has them- it's just fine being yourself.

Oh good point Anu- taking the blame on themselves.

V- Stubborn because you have seen it with Meera. She can be very stubborn at times and so can Abhi ( like his refusal to forgive his dad or even otherwise) both are eventually let to give it up because of circumstances. They are stubborn with each other too.
Meera just says- She would do anything to make Rohan , Riya, Abhi or anyone happy. . She does steal those cute moments for herself which is more her flowing in that moment. But rarely she ponders over what she wants or desires.

Abhi and Meera are shaped by their families , I think one has resigned and another could never think beyond the accomplishments of her over-achieving family.
