This character, like almost everyone in this show, is based on someone in the original. One way to find out is by the first letter of the name- if it matches that of a character from 24:OR (original), then this is that 24:OR character's counterpart.

There are exceptions, like Gaines/Yakub and the LTFE, who don't fit this rule, but otherwise, we can expect anyone with different initials to have a slightly or drastically different role.
As for this one, Dhruv
Awasthi, who's apparently based on Ted Packard, but has a very different arc from Ted's, is eventually found to be partly based on Michael
Amador, the virus salesman. Having seen the OR:S3, I've noticed they've completely flipped the role of Nina Myers with that of Michael Amador here!
Now this gets me thinking- Amador worked for Saunders, who had a mistress named
Diana White. The Saunders character has yet to appear. Guess whose name in 24: IR (remake*) begins with
D! And Mehr's role may not be finished yet. Following the plot of 24:OR to predict 24:IR will be a lot harder, given how much they have changed here, be it by replacing characters with new ones, or mixing a few.
*Or maybe we can call them 24:US and 24:IN? Edited by Arjun_M - 9 years ago
