- | Chapter Twenty-One | -

"This party is so boring." Aahana commented, looking around the party hall which was filled with sophisticated ladies gushing over one or another thing, men dressed in formal talking business while youngsters were busy in themselves.

"Our history lecture is more entertaining than this." Taani mumbled.

"Agreed. Atleast we get to drool over Mr. Handsome there." Aahana agreed as the thoughts of their hot history professor.

"Where is aryan? I hate him for ditching us like this." Taani muttered under her breathe, she looked around to catch a glimpse of Rey or Aryan but both were not present there.

"Lets go to drink counter. I need strong drink." Aahana grabbed her hand and dragged her to the drinks counter and got drinks for themselves.

"Hello, girls. Hope you are enjoying the party." Aryan came there, and stand beside taani.

"This party is so..bleh. Can i go home? My bed is calling me." Taani turned to aryan with stern smile.

"No. You can't go home, and i know this party is not like ours, but wait for sometime then we will go to terrace and start our own party with lots of alcohol and loud music." Aryan assured the girls.

"Its better be worth my time else i'm gonna kill you." Taani threaten him in no nonsense tone. Aryan gulped down the lump formed in his throat as he nodded his head frantically.

"Good." Taani mumbled and turned her eyes away from him, her eyes sparked up when her gaze landed on the man coming toward them.

"Hello, guys." Rey walked upto the drinks counter and greeted them.

"Hello, Mr. Singhania." Taani greeted him formally but her eyes were shinning with naughtiness.

"Hello, Taani. Hope you are enjoying the party."

"I was not, but since you are here now i might." Taani replied back, she winked at him while flashing a flirtatious smile to him.

"Stop flirting with my brother." Aryan warned her in playful tone.

"Oh com'on! I am not gonna rape him, he is safe." Taani winked at Rey who shook his head at her. The alcohol in her system was surely doing its work.

"By the way, I am his girlfriend for the night." Taani threw an arm around Aryan and giggled softly. Rey's eyes snapped at her, his brows knitted in confusion at her words. He was about to ask her to explain, but before he could Naina came up there and hugged Aryan.

Naina, Avantika's best friend's daughter who happen to have huge crush on Aryan.

"Baby, I missed you so much." Naina broke the hug and planted a sweet peck on his cheek.

"Girl, would you mind leaving my boyfriend or you want to keep hugging him all night?" Taani came in between naina and aryan, and separated them much to aryan's relief and rey's dislike.

Rey felt an unknown irritation seeing her close to his brother. He wanted to pull her away from his brother and keep her locked in his arms, where she belong.

"Are you his girlfriend?" Naina asked taani, who narrowed her eyes. She pushed her aside and move close to aryan as she wrapped an arm around him.

"Of course, girl. He is my cheeku." Taani spoke over sweetly, Aryan scrunched his nose in disgust at the weird nickname she had kept for him.

"Cheeku? Couldn't you think of anything better?" Aryan leaned and whispered in her eyes.

"This is the most romantic one i could think of, Deal with it and play along." Taani muttered under her breathe. Aryan narrowed his eyes, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer as he turned to face Naina.

"Yes, Naina. She is my girlfriend. Isn't she cute?" Aryan smiled at naina, taani rested her head against his shoulder, completely unaware of the anger & discomfort Rey was facing due to her close proximity with his brother, Aryan.

When Rey couldn't stand the scene anymore, he turned and left from there.

"What happened to him?" Taani who watched him going away, though to herself.

"Guys, I will be back in a moment." Taani excused herself and followed him as he walked out of the house through back side door.

"Reyaansh." Taani called out for him as she ran behind him.

Rey stopped in his steps and turned around facing her. His eyes were blazing with fire, he didn't had the patience to talk to her calmly. Something was ignited within him. He couldn't control himself.

"Would you mind telling me what the f**k was going on inside? You and aryan?" Rey asked her.

"That? We were acting." Taani, being unaware of his anger, replied casually.

"Acting? But why?" He hissed in anger.

"Because he want that girl to stay away from him." Taani answered him, her brows knitted in confusion sensing the anger.

Rey inhaled a deep breathe, to calm him anger. A wave of relief washed over him realizing it was just an act. There was nothing between her and aryan. And for some odd reasons, he liked that she was just faking to be aryan's girlfriend.

"But why did you walked out?" Taani raised her one eye brow at him questioningly.

"Nothing." Rey shook his head, dismissing the matter. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in warmth of his arms. He buried his face in crook of her neck. They stayed in each other's arms for sometime.

"You are looking really beautiful today." He whispered in her ear, leaving a sweet peck on her earlobe, he tilted his face and look into her eyes.

"Thank you. And now lets go, Aryan has arranged a small party of us on terrace." Taani told him, and before he could say anything she dragged him along. He let out a chuckle and followed her with a smile.
