Let me start this post by applauding Dev's Mama. The only person in his family who can tell the truth. And what brutal truth!!!

In answer to Dev's same old lame excuse to the tune of, There was no way I could have a mother and a girlfriend/wife too. Everyone in the world can have both. But since my mother behaves like a jealous possessive girlfriend, how can I have a wife?

Mama's slamdunk answer: Tu itna bhi bechara nehin hain.

BULL'S EYE!!!

Ishwari passed on this victim mentality to Dev. Her "Woe is me. In the whole wide world only I had a hard life. And since Dev also had a hard life with me, we will both be single until I die" song that she keeps repeating got into Dev's head.

However, our Mama probably as irritated with pacifying Mother and son duo that he had to speak up.

He gave excellent advice. However, Dev with his selective hearing only heard the part where he can continue to do what he had been doing, but doesn't have to do what he should be doing.

I can bet you, he will continue to try to break Sona's marriage but won't try to get her forgiveness for treating her like a piece of furniture which he got rid of because his mom didn't like the style.

Now Sona should also tell Ritwik about what Dev did to him. But knowing Sona, she will tell it to him soon.

Ritwik also took an honest step when Bijoy asked what's wrong. He clearly stated that he is worried for Sona because of Dev's harassment which Bijoy should know being Sona's father.

Now the day we have been waiting for. Bijoy wasted no time to let Ishwari know that her son has been calling Sona behind her back which lead to Ishwari confronting Dev.

There could only be two things that will happen now.

1. Dev will come clean how he had been suffering in Sona's absence (Unlikely outcome) or

2. He will trivialize his love again by lying about its importance in his life which will lead to Ishwari searching for suitably docile, submissive, doormat girl for Dev to marry. (Most likely).

I know what I am wishing for. Ishwari to get a slap on her face and be forced to confront the fact that Dev will get destroyed if Sona is not in his life.

But the show needs to run longer. Hence I don't think that will happen.

On a completely different note, why didn't the detective mention in his Ritwik report that Ishwari brought that ideal guy in Sona's life? Adha report kyun diya?

Or may be he did give the full report. Lekin as usual, baat Devi Maa ki hain to woh portion Dev skip kar gaya hoga.

Lovely post as always Tia.
I hold Dev and only Dev responsible for the break-up drama. Honestly from where I see it till the break-up, Sona knew that Ishwari doesn't like her, she kept on trying without any complaints, her lone tears, depressing nights, pensive mood throughout the day - Poor girl gave her everything to try to give their relationship its deserving ending..

Then we have Ishwari.. She was hurt like anything (and quite justifiably, agree her drama was OTT, but the reason was not). But she did try to look past her own preference and accept Sona. There were few honest heart-felt scenes during that time - her saying sorry to Sona, her buying the bedsheets of Sona's choice, seeing her son taking her out but spending time with Sona at the shop (which is quite irritating for real), forcefitting Sona into the family (It was as awkward for Sona as it was for Ishwari honestly), her honesty about teaching Sona the only dish which was special between Mom and Son (Sona messed it, not her problem).. And the MOST significant track where she takes the pills, it was not because of her apathy for Sona, but because of her own color of selfishness which scared her itself.. In all these, I would say Ishwari did try and introspect both for Devakshi relationship.. She was ready to fight her insecurities, may be one fine day she would have succeeded, Sona was ready to fight for her love, may be one fine morning she would have been pleasantly surprised... But Dev ? The root of all these complexities - Dev, he was the ONLY one who neither try to introspect, nor try to make it work even for 1 second. 👎🏼

In all these, it was only Dev who failed to handle the situation properly.. Neither Mamaji, nor Ishwari, forget about Sona.. I can dislike Ishwari for her manipulation, for her blindness towards her son's pain, for her being selfish, but when she cries that she didn't ask Dev to break up, it is true.. It is much expected that when someone values something so dearly, he/she would fight for it.. Like Ishwari was fighting to accept Sona for Dev, Sona was fighting to be accepted by Ishwari for Dev.. But the way Dev broke up, it's not Ishwari's fault if she thinks Sonakshi meant nothing special to Dev, because if she did, Dev's effort to keep her in his life would be visible to everyone, but can we see it ? No.

P.S. - Stalking, interfering with Sona's life events post breakup etc. don't count as an effort to keep her in his life. Just in case.

Such a beautiful post ..I agree it is Dev and ONLY Dev who is responsible for this mess but in all this I am not willing to forgive Easwari because a child parent relationship is the most purest form of Love so even though Easwari says she tried it was almost in my opinion Namke Vaste and she has not shown any indication of trying to understand Dev in all this mess and that for me is a very very severe disconnect to the show

Yes indeed. It's one of the most unfortunate event of life to have such mother in your life. 🥱 I am not even gonna comment on Ishwari in the current post-break up track Have never seen any such mother in the world 😕😆 I don't think anyone can forgive Ishwari ever, if she is indeed a good human being as the makers claim to be, upon realizing the extreme level of her own selfishness, she should go leave for tirtha yatra for ever leaving Dev and Sona alone.. That's the minimum she can do as a compensation.. Her character is ruined beyond dreams..

Disconnect to the show, insult to the mom-son relationship and test of our patience level Gemini 😆

You have hit the nail on the head. Yes, we can blame Ishwari for her 100 million issues. But she loves Dev. When Dev behaves in front of Ishwari as if whether Sona doesn't matter a whit in his life, why would Ishwari think otherwise when she is happy to maintain her delusional ideas.

A woman leaves her family to make another family her home. Her respect in her new family is entirely on the person with whom she decided to spend her life. When a husband trivializes her importance and their relationship, why would her new family give her any importance?

However if a husband stands by his wife, no family would dare to mistreat the wife.

As much as we heap blame on Ishwari, Dev is more to blame for putting down his own relationship with Sona.

@ Tia - Again you just penned it what exactly I wanted to say 👍🏼
This incident, if happens in real life, can have a long term impact even after reconciliation.. It scars a girl so deep and in a way that in future, even if she is right in something, she would think 100 times before voicing her opinion against her MIL. And the MIL's selfish ego is permanently boosted up to an extreme where she feels the devilish pleasure of having the full control of her son's life (if she would use it or not, is out of question, the point is Dev provided the opportunity to her to think so)..

I don't know if all these will be covered in this show or not, but honestly after how Dev removed her from his life, in such incidents in real life it pretty much gives the control to the mommy of the groom on how the house would function.. The family gets a clear-cut message that yes, she cant do nothing much about it.. It puts the girl in a lifetime battle of existence and self-worth at her in-laws place.. Apparently it can come across as her struggle with her ego, but no it's not.. If KRPKAB shows Dev is going to approach Sonakshi after Ishwari approves of it, it is going to be the WORST thing on the earth.. Sona's life will be at Ishwari's mercy throughout her life.. Today Ishwari is happy, happy days for Devakshi ... Tomorrow Ishwari is having a problem, bam, Sonakshi leaves for her maika with her suitcase..

I am scared to expect sane things from the show now..
