I just caught up with last night's episode... As I watched Dev & Sona yelling & arguing with each other, the only thing that I kept telling over & over again was - fools, fools, fools... Sparks were flying all over... not the good ones. Angry, heated, insane sparks were all over.
"Fools rush in where angels fear to tread" - Alexander Pope
"We're all fools in love" - Jane Austen
Dev was trying to reinforce to Sona that she can't move on with anyone else because she was still in love with him.. "Mein tumpe koi haq nahi hai?" he asks her. Look into my eyes & "Tell me that you don't love me?" To which Sona doesn't have an answer. She still loves him. He had/has haq' over her, her tears & everything related to her & nobody else could have it. Dev tries every possible way to get the truth out of her. All he wanted to hear from Sona was that she wasn't ready to move on & it was a sham & that she was still in love with him. Everything that she was saying was a lie to him. "Woh aapka mangetar nahi hai, usse apna mangetar mat kaho. Phir se jhoot mat bolo...", "Baar baar usse apna mangetar mat kaho. Woh nahi hai tumara mangetar". The words 'mangetar' & 'Rithik' made him so angry that his blood was boiling. It gave him more pain than the fact that she wanted to move on. And Sona was lying only to hurt him for what he did to her. And that was what Dev thought.
Sona couldn't recognize this Dev anymore - who was keeping tabs on her, stalking her & who was stooping so low to get someone out of his way. He was now a 'Gatiya aadmi' for her. She didn't know what he wanted. He broke up with her & all she was doing was trying to move on. She tells him that she doesn't know why he was doing all this when it was his decision to break up. She was confused. It was unfair to be subjected to such kind of feelings & emotions. She was infuriated with his behaviour & she hastily decides that she is ready to spend the rest of her life with R. Everything backfired on Dev in a single moment. He ended up instigating/triggering her to react totally out of control. And she did exactly that.
Sona says, "Humare beech respect hai, trust hai!" And Dev cuts in immediately & questions her "Par pyar tho nahi hai?" Sona dismissed that question because it was true, there was no love between her & R. Then why was she settling for something that her heart didn't feel right about? He tries telling her that she is fooling R, her family & herself by running away from the truth. Truth, that she was still in love with Dev.
"Bohot masak bana liya apne." Sona says. This sounded so weird to me. Honestly speaking, to me both of them were making fun of relationships now.
Sona challenges him that she will move on & she promises him that she will marry R. She even tells him that he could use all the power & name he has to bring R down, but even then Sona would still support him & will be beside him. Because that's the way she sticks to her promises unlike Dev. It was a verbal slap for Dev. She says, "Rithik mujhe aapse, bohot door lekar jayega, humesha ke liye, aur ye mera promise hai aapse.." That was a blow to Dev. He was gutted. It was only few hours ago when Saurabh told him that nothing was decided yet on her marriage. And that gave him hope. And now all of a sudden the tables were turned again. Sona was standing in front of him & she boldly, daringly challenged him that she would marry R within a month.
Dev was left haunted by her words. He couldn't decide what to believe in...that she will go far away from him by marrying R or the belief that he had in himself that she can never leave him & go because she still loves him.
"Tum kahin nahi ja sakthi. Sona you can't move on. You love me. You love me Sonakshi." He roared. Because this is what he believed in. What Sona said didn't make sense & he didn't want to understand it. Dev was in denial. And what Sona was doing? Was she being true to herself? Was she being fair with R? Wasn't she being hasty & impulsive now?
Two wrongs don't make a right. I hope both Sona & Dev know that. Both were fools in love & they were rushing in making decisions without thinking about it rationally. First it was Dev's impulsive decision to break up & now it was Sona who was being hasty & irrational. Insanity was at it's peak in this episode. Instead of facing the core problem, instead of talking & behaving like mature adults, they were yelling at each other trying to bring out the worst in each other. Which they did so effortlessly...Is being in love that easy?? Nope! What is love if there are no arguments, misunderstandings or denial?? You need to address them & not take it to another crazy level. Other than being in love...there was no respect & no trust in this case now. These two people were stubborn fools, proud fools, fools who were thinking too much about others & fools who were thinking too less of themselves... They were attempting rash & reckless things that wise people wouldn't do. And the angels wouldn't go there as well to save them... All I can say is God save them! đ
