Few days ago some people were discussing Raja ki aayegi baarat.

I want to highlight that this particular also has a disgusting message tbh.
Fine it is your choice to forgive but the way it was hyped and showed was soo OTT.

- The man telling the other woman that his wife is mental and the other woman being okay with it.
- The man's friend trying to save his deeds

- Then the wife becomes who she never was just to get her man back. I mean he bloody cheated on you and left you!! Where is your brain?

-Forgiving him when he cried and was like I can't see you cry, I mean WTH? Where was he when you cried?

Yes you become independent but for yourself not to forcefully get a cheater back in your life. It was a pathetic message IMO.

after seeing ADHM teaser and Ranbir dialogue i have my doubt

I made a point in the ADHM vs KANK thread about how infidelity is acceptable when the man is indulging in it, like Biwi No 1/No Entry/Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain etc. Let's see how far the audience will accept it when there are women playing these characters. Biwi No 1 is SUCH a dated concept- virtuous woman vs the vamp. Classic strategy of pitting women against each other, especially in competition over a man.

I actually do not watch a lot of movies from the 80s/90s because of the hypocrisy they display. Movies like Beta represent independent women as some shrew to be tamed. There is also that movie with Salman and Shilpa where she wants to be a model and doesn't want to have a child immediately, and she is ultimately brought to the 'right' path by Salman's character and becomes a 'good wife'.

This movie should be banned not Coz of bad theme, but bad acting by everyone, specially Sallu.
His last scene where he cries " Maii Kutta hoon" was masterclass in bad acting 😆

There was a serial on similar theme. Prerna Tiwari was main lead- Jaane kya baat huyi. Her husband left her for another woman and she tried to show him that she was a gold digger.

Her Husband's mother and step brother helped her. I so wanted her with that NRI step brother rather than going back to her husband. Was so disappointed with the ending.

TV shows are shit.

Although it's a shit movie there is certain married cheaters who lie about their wives being crazy, not putting out or even dead and leaving a baby behind and some women take them in as their pet project because they feel so bad for them. And friends do not eat out their friends. Guys operate on bro code. They will even go the extra mile and cover for you.

Many movies back in those days showed infidelity and everybody laughed at the jokes but today if such a movie is made I don't think it would be easily accepted.
