This fellow worships his so called mother and can break up for her sake.. So he doesn't want to continue relationship with her neither wants or let her marry someone else.. Such a hypocryte

Dev is NOT a mahaan or a perfect guy

Infact his character was always shown imperfect. He himself said ki he is selfish and stubborn.

Every character has flaws and every human commits mistakes

'hypocrite' is actually a rude word for dev .. please stop terming him what he is not!

Dev's character is a mystery and people should try to understand his character rather than showering hatred towards him. I agree it was his decision to break up but he is now totally broken and hurt, on top of that his so-called mother isn't understanding him - I feel pity for this guy more than anger/hatred!

I totally agree... It's difficult to understand Dev... What he wants exactly... He still loves Sonakshi.. But doesn't want to be with her... He broke up.. But then now when Sonakshi is moving on... He doesn't want her to... arghhh...
