Dev's family needs to understand he's not a machine, he's a human. He has feelings too. He gets affected by things. And Sona was his only happiness in life, for him she was his soulmate, the only person he had all rights on, the only one he used to share all his feelings to, she was his life. And still Ishwari ji you think he'll not get affected. He must have faced the biggest of storms and was firm. But this is not a storm. She was everything to him. But you are still blind and only thinking about your place in your son's life. You may separate them. But nobody can take Sona's place in his life ever.
And i loved it that Dev reacted today. When vicky came drunk today. Dev was extremely angry. He sohuted at him and was about to slap him. He seriously warned him today. Kudos to you Dev. Today you showed that even you feel the pain, even you get frustrated.
It is not the first time. Dev has tackled the similar situation in the past. But he was calm then. Today he is already furstrated and he'll surely get angry and react. He's not God but a human. And humans do get affected.
When his mother asked him to freshen up and come down. She has made besan ka halwa for him. He simply replied "Mann Nahi Hai". It was required. He cannot pretend all the time to be happy. He is devastated from inside and his mother want him to be normal and be happy. It is not possible.
He has lost everything. How can she expect him to relish his favorite food when he is completely broken from inside.
Love you CVs for showing Dev reacting. He's reacting as he is helpless now. He left her for his mother. But he cannot live without her. It was not their fault that his mother don't like her.
