Nice analogy. The problem with Dev-Eeshwari relationship is that they both trying to make it too idealistic and in the process they are unable to embrace their humanness. Humans make mistakes, they feel various emotions, their laugh, they love, they express anger and disappointment, they cry. There needs to be a free flow of these emotions through us. It's never good to keep the emotions bottled up that way for the fear of losing their perfect image in other's eyes. Mothers and sons are human too! This duo is forgetting the fact that neither of them is perfect and it's the pressure of living up to that ideal is killing them. They need to communicate.
Eeshwari's self worth is tied to how good a mother she is, as she never had any life beyond her family. Especially so, since her husband died. She focussed all her attentions on Dev as she felt that daughters marry and leave at one point but the son will be with her till the end. Dev is a successful man, so it's a little easier for him to grow out of Eeshwari's clutches, but she will have to learn to live for herself all over again to let go of Dev. No, I don't think Dev should put his own life on hold for her. It's her own battle and she has to fight it herself, but with the support of the whole family, not just Dev.

You are correct. Both Dev and Ishwari thinks the other is perfect and can do no wrong. But both are human beings with flaws.

The problem is that theirs is an exclusive relationship with restricted entry to their mutual admiration society which leaves no room for anyone else. That's fine for Ishwari. She is at the end of her life. But not fine for Dev who has his whole life ahead of him...

Some very beautiful posts today! 👏I loved the episode. I loved Sona's words to ishwari and Dev! Since it's a show, the ML and FL will eventually end up together! But if this was real life I doubt a feisty girl like Sona would ever get back with someone like Dev. she needs love but she also needs equal amount of respect. And The way Dev talked about their relationship before the breakup seemed like it was some sort of a rotten and offensive thing. Ishwari's insecurities will NEVER end. She is made that way. And in a real life scenario even if Dev and Sona get married they will never be able to find true happiness and Sona will regret her choice later on in life I guess. Because people like Dev seldom grow a spine and call out right from wrong where their mothers are concerned.
