Ajay Devgn's second directorial Shivaay has been much talked about for its unique title and fantastic trailer. But apart from that, nothing has been revealed about the plot. Everything has been shrouded in top secrecy!
The movie also marks the Bollywood debut of Sayesha Saigal, the grand niece of legendary Dilip Kumar and daughter of the yesteryear actor, Sumeet Saigal.
There have been a lot of theories about what the movie is about. There have been speculations that the movie will be Ajay Devgn's take on author Amish's best-selling trilogy Immortals of Meluha (on which Karan Johar had an eye on). The actor-director has refuted these claims, saying Shivaay is a tale set in modern time, and the title is the name of the protagonist and is actually about the imperfections that make Lord Shiva.
Well, we have got a little EXCLUSIVE inside gossip about the plot. From what we have heard, Ajay will be playing the titular hero who is on a mission to rescue a girl from a drug trafficking mafia.
Now where have we heard this plot before?
The most obvious answer is the 2008 cult action thriller, Taken, which made Liam Neeson the unlikely action hero at his age and spawned two mediocre sequels as well. The movie has Liam Neeson playing an ex-CIA agent, whose daughter gets kidnapped and he uses his tracking and martial skills to find her back. However, instead of drug trafficking, the movie's villain is a human trafficking cartel.
So is Shivaay lifting off stuff from Taken? Only Time and Ajay Devgn can tell...
