Since i am a south indian and dont have much information abt bengali weddings..i was just wondering is Roka the same as engagement(ring exchange ) or is it just an ashwirwad ceremony that happens before the ring exchange..if so ..then there is still hope 😭..am jus trying to find reasons to relax..coz if its ring exhange..then it wd b silly to have sona get back to dev..very cliched !!

They don't call it Roka... In the segment they were calling it Roka... It's the aashirwad ceremony. Don't know what they exactly call it.
And ring ceremony is not there.

There is no ring ceremony in bengali culture.. First Ashwirbad then straight marriage... Agree with Jyoti

In a Bengali marriage, Aashirwad is similar to Roka. The groom's family blesses the bride and the bride's family blesses the groom.
Then it's marriage. In Bengali marriage like western marriages, there is no Ring Ceremony. Instead the boy proposes the girl like in western world and announce they are engaged. They might throw an engagement party, but they won't exchange rings in the party. It's already done when the boy proposed.
