The Flying Jatt had a low opening day of around 6.75 crore nett despite it being a partial holiday for Janmashtami. The holiday does not seem to have aided the film much although only the collections of day two will tell. The other two main films playing Rustom and Happy Bhaag Jayegi did see minor jumps in collections on Thursday but they were collecting at lower levels. The film did manage to build up some expectations as the last film of Tiger Shroff had opened very well at around 12 crore nett and also did well in the long run which made The Flying Jatt a hotter film than it would have been before the release of Baaghi. The collections were low all over with even North India not really performing.
Tiger Shroff has a better initial pull in West and Central India as per the results of his first two films while North is comparatively weaker so this could be the reason why the collections are so low in Delhi and Punjab despite it being a Sardar film. The area should be out performing even if the film is not up to the mark like a Singh Is Bling. This is not the case for The Flying Jatt. The film has an extended weekend and its chances rest on the family audience over the weekend, it basically has to improve its collection either today or Saturday and get to that 30 crore nett mark over four days. The second day will be crucial for the film and a drop from these levels will leave it with little chance.
The collections of The Flying Jatt fell on day two by around 15-20%. The places which had a holiday on Thursday saw bigger drops. than other places. The film really needed to hold at levels of day one. Below is first two day business of The Flying Jatt.
Friday - 6,75,00,000
Saturday - 5,50,00,000
TOTAL - 12,25,00,000
The film goes into the weekend and and needs the support of the family and kids audience to get some sort of respectable four day figure. Basically the Saturday number has to go back to day one levels or above and that will enable Sunday to grow well. This scenario would take it to around 27-28 crore nett which is still not good but at least it would give it some chance of a run after the weekend is out.
The film is performing best in North and Central India markets but the the collections in North are nowhere near what they should be. The markets in West, South and East are dull with Gujarat in the western region being better than Maharashtra.
A Flying Jatt had better collections on Saturday and despite being day three it had the best figures of it run as it just edged past the first day figures of the film. Below is first three day business of A Flying Jatt.
Thursday - 6,75,00,000
Friday - 5,50,00,000
Saturday - 7,00,00,000
TOTAL - 19,25,00,000
The growth on Saturday is around 25-30% which is pretty healthy as its not the type of genre that normally has an upward trajectory especially on day three. The difference here is the promos made it look like a kids film and its possible that the family and kids audience has come on Saturday rather on the Thursday and Friday which were weekdays though day one was a partial holiday.
The film should continue with the upward trend on Sunday and although the figures can't be called good, the four day figures will be much better than what would have been expected after the first day as that could have remained the highest day for the film.
The film is performing best in North and Central India markets but the the collections in North are nowhere near what they should be. The markets in West, South and East are dull with Gujarat in the western region being better than Maharashtra.
A Flying Jatt managed better collections on Saturday and Sunday but still it is low for its extended four day weekend. The collections that it has put up in four days was needed to be done in three days for a decent result. The only plus is that it has held through the weekend and collections on Saturday and Sunday were higher than day one which was a partial holiday. Sometimes films struggle over an extended weekend that open on a holiday and don't get an initial. Still though Saturday and Sunday were better, the growth is probably not big enough to suggest strong holds in the weekdays though it remains to be seen what happens. Below are the extended first weekend figures of A Flying Jatt.
Thursday - 6,75,00,000
Friday - 5,50,00,000
Saturday - 7,00,00,000
Sunday - 8,25,00,000
TOTAL - 27,50,00,000
The collections of the film did not fare well anywhere and the main problem was North as even if others did not perform at least in North there should have been decent collections. Tiger Shroff who is two films old has not been able to penetrate the North market as both Baaghi and Heropanti score better in Gujarat, Maharashtra, CPCI and Nizam than other areas.
