I think writers are degrading Ishwari's character to such an extent so that they can justify it when Dev will take extreme step to marry Sonakshi without Ishwari's consent. If not, there was no point of inducing the plot of Ishwari finding a match for Sonakshi or taking away her bracelet from Dev's room or insulting Sonakshi. It's gradually going to add up to push Dev to get his love back.

Ishwari's pressing Dev too much is going to add up to Dev bouncing back to get his love back. Dev is already shown getting irritated with his mom's nonsense talks or forgetting to take blessings. Now when he comes to know Ishwari's involvement in finding the match, he being impulsive is surely going to do something big. And it will be getting married to Sonakshi.
