It was night. Rudra wasn't feeling sleepy. Then how ever could he let his brothers sleep ? He shook Shivaay and Om who were sleeping, Om straight and Shivaay towards Om's face and his arm over Om's chest. Sighing that they really need their beautiful, Rudra decided to wander around the mansion in hopes of finding a bakra to spend time with. As he was roaming around, he found light coming out from Dadi's room. Curious as to what Dadi was doing up so late into the night, he peeped inside. Dadi was picking up small cute dresses and wrapping it around a small idol. Rudra went inside to get a closer look. Dadi saw Rudra standing near the door.
Dadi : Are Rudra. Tu udhar kya kar raha hai ? Andar aa jaa.
Rudra : Ji Dadi.
Rudra went inside and sat on the bed next to his Dadi. He was still curious as to what she was doing.
Rudra : Dadi, ek baat puchu ?
Dadi : Haan pucho
Rudra : Ye aap kya rang birange kapde ke saath kar rahe hai ?
Dadi (smiling) : Are Rudra. Kal Janmaashtami hai. Iski tayaariyan kar rahi hu.
Rudra : Janmaashtami !! Vo kya hota hai ?
Dadi : Bhagwaan Krishna ka janamdin maana jaata hai.
Rudra : Vo itna famous hai kya
Dadi : Chup kar Badtameez. Tumhe kuch bhi nahi pata iski baare me. Shivaay aur Om ne tumhe sar pe bohot chadhaake rakhe hai
Rudra : Dadi !! Bataaiye na. Ye Krishna kaun hai ?? Avo vo handsome the kya ?? Meri tarah body aur biceps tha kya unka
Dadi : Chup kar Nautanki. Acha sun. Mei tumhe Bhagwaan Krishna ka janam katha bataati hu. Sunoge ?
Rudra : Janam kaanta ?
Dadi (hitting him on the head) : Janam katha.
Rudra : Haan Dadi sunaaiye.
Dadi : Madhura me Kans naam ka ek Raja tha. Unka ek behen thi Devki naam ki. Devki ki shaadi Vasudev naam ka ek aadmi se hui thi. Kans apni behen se bohot prem karta tha. Lekin Kans bura kaam karta tha. Apne pita ko overthrow karke Raja bana tha. Lekin vo kundli me bohot vishwaas karta tha. Jab usko ye pata chala ki Devki aur Vasudev ke aathwa putra uska vadh karega, tab un dono ko jail me daal dia tha aur apni sainik ko bola tha ki jab eke k bacha hoga tab use bataa diya jaaye.
Rudra : Kya ?? But koi apne behen ke saath aisa kaise kar sakta hai ? Dil nahi tha kya uske pass ?
Dadi : Vo ek rakshasa samaan tha. Aur usko apni ghamand me vishwaas tha.
Rudra : Phir Devki-Vasudev ko kya hua ?
Dadi : Jail me Devki ki che bache hue the. Uss Kans ne unn nadaan bacho ko eke k maar daala.
Rudra : Lekin Dadi, Vo sirf babies the. Vo kya kar sakte the ?? Aur Kans ko ye bataaya gaya tha kii eigth baby hii maarega. Baaki ko maarne ka kya ?
Dadi : Kans iss soch me padh gaya kii agar baaki saath iske virudh jaayenge thoo kya hofa. Isliye. Phir jab Devki apne saathva bache ke saath pet se thi, tab Bhagwaan Vishnu ne Yogmaya ko bola kii jo bacha Devki ki pet me tha, vo Gokulam me rehne wali Rohini Devi ki pet me rakh diya jaaye. Yogmaya ne jaise kaha vaisa hii kia. Ab samay aa gaya tha aathva bacha ka janam keliye. Bhagwaan Vishnu ne Yogmaya ko bola Gokulam me rehne waali Yashodha ki godh me janam le. Vaha se shuru hua that Krishna ka katha. Leeladhari ka nathkat. Jab aathva bacha ka janam hua tha, Vasudev aur Devki pareshaan the. Yogmaya apni maya se uss jail ko guard karne wali saare sainik ko neend de di. Tab Vasudev nanhe Krishna ko leke Gokulam jaane lage. Aur vaha Nanda ko Krishna soumpke, unki beti ko vaapas leke aaye.
Rudra : But Dadi. Uss ladki tho maregi na. Vo Kans usko maar dega na.
Dadi (smiling) : Puri kahaani khatam nahi hui Rudra. Shaanti se suno.
Rudra : Theek hai Dadi.
Dadi : Jab Kans ko pata chala ki aathva bacha paida ho gaya, vo gaya usko maarne. Jab uss bachi ko neeche giraane wala tha, vo bachi uski haatho se nikalkar Yogmaya ki roop me aayi. Aake Kans ki anth ka chethaavni deke gayi thi Kans. Tumhaara anth janam le chukka hai. Vo Gokulam me hai. Kans ka anth ka janam hua hai bolke iss tyohaar manaate hai.
Rudra : But Dadi. Krishna ka kya hua ?
Dadi : Krishna bada hua Gokul me. Yashoda aur Nand ne use bohot pyaar dia. Apne janam dene wale parents se bhi zyaada pyaar dia Nand aur Yashoda ne Krishna ko. Krishna tho Nand ki shaan bane aur Yashoda ke laad. Aur vaha se shuru hua tha unke harketein.
She heard a yawn. Rudra was feeling sleepy. Dadi caressed his head lovingly and made him sleep on the bed. Rudra slept. The next day, Janmaashtami celebrations were in full swing. The house was decorated with lights and the Pooja room was decorated with marigold flowers. The OBros were ready and were down for the Pooja. As the Pooja finished, the younger Oberois took blessings from the older Oberois. TejVi and ShaNku took blessings from Dadi who blessed them happily. Shivaay, Omkara, Rudra and Priyanka took blessings from Dadi first and then from their parents. Om was sceptical about Tej but still it was a festival and one pleading look from Shivaay clouded his mind of anger with love for his brothers and he took blessings from both TejVi and ShaNky.
Shivaay : Alright !! Now its time for Dahi Handi.
Rudra : Nahi Bhaiyaa. Abhi nahi.
Om : Kyu Rudra ??? Kya hua ??
Rudra : Abhi aashiwaad khatam nahi hua
Om : Humne tho saare bado se aashirwaad le liye na.
Rudra : But meine nahi lia
Shivaay : Rudra, don't confuse. Kya kehna chaahte ho ?
Rudra simply smiled and moved towards his brothers. Standinf face-to-face with them, he bent down and touched the feet of both his brothers.
Rudra : Bhaiyaa and O. Please bless me.
Shivaay and Om were shocked. Dadi was smiling while TejVi and ShaNky were confused.
Shivaay : Rudra. Ye tum kya kar rahe ho. Utho.
Om : Haan Rudra. Just get up.
Rudra : Atleast haath tho sar pe rakho. Aashirwaad ko aise bina diye nahi chodte.
Shivaay and Om looked at each other. Sighing, they touched Rudra's head. Rudra got and looked at them with a smile.
Om : Now can you explain ki ye kya tha ?
Rudra : Bhaiyaa and O. Bachpan se leke aaj tak aapne sab kuch dia. Jo meine maanga vo aur usse bhi zyaada. Pyaar tho bharke diya aapne mujhe. Kal jab Dadi ke saath tha, tab Bhagwaan Krishna ka story sun raha tha. Sunte sunte mujhe ye laga ki kitna similar hai mera aur unka story. Janam tho mera bhi hua tha iss ghar me. But pyaar mujhe Bhaiyaa aur O ne dia. Ye nahi kaha ki Maa-Papa mujhse pyaar nahi karte hai. Karte hai but bachpan se leke aaj taj, mujhe Bhaiyaa aur O ne pala, posha, protect kia, mere liye fight kia,mere har tantrum ko maana aur mujhe bohot pyaar dia. Tho mere liye Bhaiyaa aur O hai Nand aur Yashodha. My Papa and Mummy. Bhaiyya Nand Papa hai becoz he spoils me on every occasion he gets but nevertheless loves and adores me. O Yashodha Maa hai becoz he always keeps a check on my doings. Scold me, reprimands me and tries to teach me god things.
Shivaay and Om laughed with tears in their eyes. Rudra went ahead and hugged them so tight. Shivaay and Om hugged him back too with the same love. Dadi smiled with happy tears, TejVi and ShaNky were close to tears. The hug continued till Om interrupted.
Om : Rudra..
Rudra : Haan O.
Om : Ye hug pehle emotional tha. Ab...
ShivRudKara : Awkwardss ho raha hai.
They broke off the hug and Rudra shouted Dahi Handi. They went out and as the tradition that was followed every year, Shivaay and Om joined their hands together as Rudra climbed up and broke the matka.
