Namaste ji, Firstly, I am unaware of Punjabi's so please don't bash me if I am wrong. :-D OK at the start of yhm time Ishita and simmi wore mangalsutra sindoor. But now both the ladies removed it. is it Punjabi style that only newlyweds Must wear mangalsutra sindoor and rest can ignore? Or am I missing something?

I am not aware of Punjabi/Madrasi or something specific like that.
But I am aware of few things my mom told me.
I was small when I asked about mangalsutra being a part of marriage ceremony but maa refused saying it wasn't a ritual; but now out of fashion people started including it.
Married women do wear but not out of ritual, its their choice. (This is North India perspective at my place). As far as I have seen my maa, she says most important sign of being married is toe-ring, as now a days no one wears sindoor or mangalsutra on day-to-day basis.

Coming to South Indians, mainly Madrasi
My cousin wife is from Chennai; so in their marriage it was mandatory. Even 13 years down the lane she still wears. I met them 4 years back, though they stay in US. At their marriage time I was told it's most important ritual of marriage. It's mandatory to wear them always.

Leave them aside, I work in Bangalore. I have lot of south Indian colleagues who wear day to day basis.

P.S. This is my family personal experience. Sorry if you don't agree

i agree.
one thing i like about yhm is that. they dont say that if you are married you have to wear sindoor/mangalsutra.. infact even mihika and vandu dont wear one iguess

nowadays it is personal choice and i appreciate that..

infact i am from a typical tambrahm iyer family and i dont wear my thali (mangalsutra) or sindoor.. i only wear it during a pooja or function.

my husbands/in laws are quite ok with it.

True

I'm from Tamil Nadu.

According to the tradition and belief here married women wear their mangalsutra sindoor until the lady die or became widow. and it really considers inauspicious for the husband if they did not do so. It is a strong belief here. Oh yes toe ring too. It will raise eyebrows if they do not do so.

But in hindi serials it is not something so big to show like that. I really don't understand when I used to live in North India in UP, married lady there always had their mangalsutra and sindoor on. But looks like every thing is changing now a days with time.

And one cannot be certain when down the line in coming years tradition, rituals, and beliefs will change some more, which are in actually mad made rituals in the first place.

Im sorry, I dont understand your irritation. I am being honest. I have friends who wear it only when they are going to wedding receptions, they treat it as a fashion accessory. I didnt say that I do that or you do it, but some people do. I dont understand why its bothering you...the truth is the truth.
