Previous episode Dev clearly wished to see Sona once.. Just once... Yesterday's episode start with Dev outside Sona's house to catch a glimpse.
The ID card was a way of knowing where she worked. He noticed where she worked, called the waiter and sent him behind her to return the ID.
Dev couldn't approach her directly and yet he wanted to talk about her.. He cannot talk to his family , neither hers. He couldn't talk to anyone about her personally, the only other option was to talk about her professionally.
The place where Dev was sitting in the car, he had no way of knowing who called Sona and what transpired. He had no way of knowing Sona made a mistake.
He did not call the Boss to scold him. He called him for a business proposition. At least if they didn't work together, if he could give her institute work..
By association if he could be close to Sona.. That seemed like the intention
See the scene again. Dev only wanted to talk about Sona. " Aap ne employees hire kiye hai... Dr. Sonakshi Boss".. Oh he just wanted someone so he can talk about her.
"Agar uske bare mein koi review mila ho toh zyada dhan mat dijiyega..."
This angered Dev... Sonakshi was the best nutritionist in Delhi. For Dev, Sonakshi is the epitome of professionalism. The way she handed over his mom's files was another example of her professionalism... The boss dismissing her professional capacity is what angered Dev..
He didn't threaten the Boss the minute the Boss walked in... Instead Dev congratulated the Boss for the growing expanding Business.
He had dismissed her personally. But how could a stranger dismiss her professionally.
That's why he was stern and he said, she doesn't make mistakes and even if she does you will not take it seriously.. meaning explain it to her.
He didn't say ignore her mistakes... He merely was asking the boss to be tolerant, understanding.
Finally he could only openly accept to a complete stranger "Woh meri dost bhi hain..."
