Regarding Ishwari's alleged overdose, I am not sure I entirely buy the argument. As I am not a doctor, I can't say.
So I was wondering if we have any doctors who can shed some light on this. How many pills should one take to overdose and is it possible to accidentally take so many??

If it's a tonic you might accidentally gulp more than the required dosage if you take it straight from the bottle.

How can you accidentally gulp down pills?? It's difficult enough to swallow more than one pill at a time as it is. If it's a handful of pills to overdose, how can you do it accidentally??

you can take too many and really harm yourself. this is why doctors will never give you a giant bottle of it (like Ishwari had). Physicians may give you a few tablets enough for a few days only to avoid addictive potential.
people try to harm themselves with all sorts of things. I've seen patients who swallowed an entire paracetamol bottle and another a bunch of antihistamines. they got really sick and experienced a lot of pain ..

its an interesting problem. most of those who swallowed too many paracetamol or other over-the-counter drugs usually didn't intend to commit suicide. its actually a call for help. if they were really suicidal, they would be more drastic.

I'm not a psychiatrist, to give exact definitions. but no I dont think Ishwari had suicidal ideation. she's ignorant of the dangers of the medication and took too many because they didn't work.

I am assuming you are a doctor.

When you have a bunch of childhood friends who happen to be doctors, i learned never to expect a straight answer from them. They give a long and complicated explanation which sounds very logical at that point. You don't realize until later that after all said and done you are still left with an unanswered question😉😉😉

On a serious note, yeah human ailments can be very complicated, be it physical or mental.

First up, sleeping tablets are not sold over the counter any more these days, even in India. There were days gone by when one could just walk into a medical store and buy strips of Calmpose just like that. Today, you need a prescription for "common" sedatives / relaxants like diazepam, Alprazolam, clonazipam, zolpidem etc. The fact that she called her doctor and asked him to deliver such tablets direct to her is very irregular and not done in real life. These tablets do not come in bottles either.

even if was allowed, taking more than one is not an accident. it is done in full consciousness and hence an attempt to suicide. it will not be treated in a hospital either, without filing of a FIR as per the Indian CrPC.

This is a fictional show so all things are possible.. 😊😊😊.

The whole thing is very vague..
Ishwari has taken the pills out of Panic Attack.. Not because she was against Dev-Sona.. In Panic Attack, it does happen as people lose control over their mind and body when it happens 😔 They are not themselves.. It's a disease/disorder and should be cured.. So I don't blame Ishwari..

What drama I don't like is - how she has forgotten the reason of her swallowing extra pills.. A general doctor can diagnose that a patient has taken pills, but it's not his area of expertise to know if it's intentional or driven by another disease/disorder/factor.. Generally once the patient regains consciousness there is a doctor-patient convo where the doctor inquires about the reason behind the health disaster.. But here no one wants to talk about the reason behind such drastic steps.. Neither Ishwari opens her mouth that it was a panic attack, nor Dev asks her properly if she had taken it intentionally out of guilt or it was intentional.. As a good and responsible son as Dev claims to be, he should have a clear cut conversation with his mother on the background of such incident.. If I were at Dev's place, I would have asked my mother because it's a serious incident and if not talked/cured about, my mom can do it again.. Just because Dev hears Ishwari murmuring that she aint a good mom, he deducts that she has taken this step out of guilt.. Man, that's not the case 😵

This show is just creepy .. Dev and Ishwari's relationship freaks me out.. Neither Ishwari is even CLOSE to being a good mom, nor Dev is at all a good son, not even going to his performance as a lover 👎🏼 Only saving grace is Sona..

I suppose Sona will be able to give an answer to that once they do get married and do the deed😉😉

Let's hope for Sonas sake that he won't have anxiety issues in the bedroom😉
