Does crores of a film matter?

Of course any fan of any actor is happy and excited when their favorite celebs film does well and extremely well. Obviously, everyone who works on a film wants the film to do well and once they make the money and get into the crores club everyone is dancing.

But, why do people use the fact that a film did well or made x amount of crores to prove a movie was good? Yes, it made money but how was the acting, how was the story, is it worth watching more than once, is it worth even watching once? I hate it when people start to argue and say "well this film made this much money so your opinion doesn't matter." Lol but the film still sucked-is my argument.
