Hey hey hey! I am back with a new story. Inspiration struck and I wanted to write something based on what is going on right now in the show. Hope you will all read and give me some feedback. I wrote it at work for you guys! Don't know why, but this story needed to be told. I have a really good feeling about this one.

Part 1:

The haze cleared with Nanaji's voice confirming Sumo and Aditya's wedding engagement at Preeti and Pushkar's bidaai. Suman's eyes were bright as she looked point-blank at him and then over at Aditya. She did not turn back.

A searing pain ripped through his insides even as he watched this incident happen again...standing over his own shoulder. It suffocated him even now to see this on repeat.

Nirmala Ahuja's wail cleared the fog: Shravan! Shravan!!! I didn't know, beta. I swear, I DIDN'T KNOW...!

Shravan shouted: YOU SHOULD HAVE!!! SHE IS ALL I HAD! EVERYTHING I LIVED FOR!!! (His voice broke). You cut me off, that was fine! You could have AT LEAST left me this one person to love. I HATE YOU and your bas***d son! I hate you!!! And I will HATE you until I DIE!

Nirmala's face shattered: I thought you were just friends, Shravan, I swear! (She ran after him as he got in the car).

Shravan said gravely: You are dead to me (and drove away).

He reached Tiwari Villa just as Sumo was getting in the car behind Aditya. They were off to Delhi with Nirmala Ahuja. Shravan was going to lose her forever. Every cell in his body screamed to go get her, but he could not let himself be seen. His pride was holding him back from begging her to stay back for him. She chose. She chose Aditya in front of Nanaji. She chose Aditya over him. How could he go grovel at her feet to stay back for him? Not to leave him?

He went deeper into the shadows of the trees as the car sped away. There was nothing here worth waiting for in Sumo's mind. Shravan had read that in Sumo's red-rimmed eyes. Nanaji had left them all right after the wedding, unable to stay long enough for Sumo's kanyadan.

"Shravan. Shravan!?"

Shravan mumbled: N-na jao. Nehi. Please!

Aditi laughed: Kaha na jao, Sweety? I just got here.

Shravan blinked and then glared, incredulous: What are you doing here in my bedroom!? Don't you f-ing knock?

Clueless Aditi giggled: It will be my bedroom soon too! Do I need to knock in my own bedroom? I wanted to surprise you besides...

She bent down so her eely hair curtained around his face.

Shravan pushed up against the bed and edged her to the side without throwing her over like he wanted to.

Aditi hugged him from the side: So unromantic!

Shravan shrugged her off: No one has permission to enter my room without knocking except Chotte and S...(He stopped himself).

Aditi: And...me!

Shravan looked at her in pity. How could anyone be like this, he thought. Shaking his head, he shut himself in the bathroom.

Aditi banged on the door and called out: Jaldi karna! We have an appointment at Motilal Uncle's to see the rings at 2:00 pm!

Shravan crushed the tube of paste in his hand and threw it in the trash.

She was still talking: And then we are off to Mumbai for the CNN Heroes' Charity Awards! Our first event as a couple, I am so excited Shravan! Oh, can we coordinate!? Do you have a lime green tie or should we get one on the way? (She banged more insistently) Shravan! Tell na?

Shravan turned on the shower and drowned Aditi's voice out. God only knew where Chachi found these kinds. Her choices all had the gift of becoming his bane of existence, fast.

Shravan berated himself: Papa ke kasam khaya he tune, Shravan. You WILL move on.

The CNN Heroes' Charity Awards...

Sumo adjusted the simple locket over the green silk bodice of her sari. She was a bit nervous. Sumo looked down and grabbed the little hand flying mid-air.

Sumo chided: Hold my hand, Sahil and don't go anywhere alone, okayyy?

She pulled up her sari pleats with one hand, still holding Sahil's hand with the other. The hem had tangled in her high heels. Elegant as always, she thought.

Sumo: Yeh bhi abhi hona tha?

She shook her feet and looked up just as someone nearly collided into her. Sahil dropped his rubber ball and slipped away in search of it.

Sumo picked up her pouch, feeling annoyed: Sahil! I am so sorry maam, I got in your way.

Aditi: You nearly knocked me over. Do you know how the press would cover this story if I fell?

Sumo, confused: No... Um, sorry.

Sumo was about to go after Sahil when she caught sight of that broad shoulder approaching. The man behind that elegant stranger was not unknown to her. Not at all.

Suman's hands went cold and clammy.

Shravan's voice was slow and deliberate, though his eyes were stormy: Sum-man Tiwari. How long as has it been (it was not a question, he knew the answer. It was exactly 4 years, 6 months and 19 days).

Aditi turned: You know her, Sweety?

Suman looked from him to the woman and back to him as the dots connected. She took a shaky breath and did not answer in the positive or negative.

Shravan betrayed an annoyance at publicly being called "Sweety," Sumo knew how much he hated that word.

Shravan addressed Suman first: Suman Ahuja, rather. Yes, Aditi, Suman here is...was (he added for emphasis) a family friend. Mrs. Ahuja, this is Aditi Amirchand.

Aditi interrupted in excitement: His fiance! Hone wali, anyway, in a week hehe.

Daughter of the major donor, Harish Amirchand, thought Suman with a sad smile to herself. The Amirchands lived up to their name. She was a good match for Shravan. They virtually looked like they had come out of Page 3. While she...well, that was always obvious.

Suman straightened against the bones that threatened to crumble in her: Congratulations. And it is still Suman Tiwari.

Shravan scoffed: Of course, naam bhi nehi liya hoga tumne. (More silently) Independent jo ho.

Sumo glared at him, showing that momentary flare of the fire in her before looking away.

Aditi: Thanks! Hey, I didn't know you were a friend. Don't mind, okay?

Suman smiled stiffly: Of course not, if you will excuse me (she tried to leave).

Aditi: Hey, where's your date? Didn't they say everyone needs to bring a partner or guest? Daddy ne toh yehi bola tha...(she got confused).

Shravan's hair stood on ends. A cold shiver ran through him at the thought of seeing a smug Aditya again after all these years. The last thing he wanted was to see that man's face. The man who had everything he, Shravan, ever wanted for himself. Sumo's love, Sumo's body, Sumo's future, Sumo's friendship, Sumo's companionship, Sumo's babies...Aditya only had rights to it all now (Shravan gulped the bile rising in his throat as the grief sank in again).

Suman forced herself to speak even as standing here with a poker face in front of Shravan cost her every ounce of her will power.

Suman: Y-yes, he was here just a moment ago. Sahil...? Sahil!? Where are you?

She picked up the table cloth from the table beside them and looked under: Sahil!

She was looking for a child.

Shravan blanched. He involuntarily took a step back. Somehow, he had not imagined that it had already happened, but it had been long enough. He hated himself for being so gullible.

He had hoped that maybe the pretty Aditi would make Sumo a little jealous, but this girl...she was always way ahead of him when it came to getting even.

He stepped back, the last thing he wanted was to see a child Sumo had made with another man.

A toddler came out from under the table, fishing out a small red ball and sucking his thumb.

Sumo: Sahil...thumb nehi. (She looked at Shravan and Aditi) He's a bit shy around strangers.

Shravan turned away.

Aditi: How CUTE! Look, Sharavan (she pulled his sleeve insistently) isn't he the cutest!!!?

Shravan looked back and surveyed the wide-eyed child reluctantly when curiosity got the best of him.

IT looked nothing like Suman.

The kid picked up on Shravan's anger, because it took one look at him and grabbed handfuls of his mother's sari and hid behind her knee.

Shravan: Baap par gaya hai.

"Chep" was his silent message to Suman, she heard it loud and clear.

Suman looked hurt. She looked down at the toddler and cupped its face and chin with so much love in her eyes that Shravan's heart gave away. He could not take this any longer. Tears prickled at the back of his eyes.

He tugged Aditi roughly by the arm when the girl started cooing at the toddler that hid further behind Sumo's legs.

Shravan: Let's go. Get. Seats.

Aditi, ever out-of-the-loop: Oh, look Suman. Your sari matched much better with Shravan's tie than my gown.

Suman startled: I better be going. The event is about to start soon.

Shravan tugged Aditi to leave the scene before Sumo, but Suman made it out first because stupid Aditi started to wobble on her heels. Seething, he walked over alone to get his seat for the event to start.

Sharavan concentrated on making his breathing more even. Suman was not worth loosing his sanity over. Not again.

She had gone and made a baby with Aditya Ahuja for God's sake, he told himself. Shravan's heart could not care less. It reacted to her the same way as always - ever happy to leap out to her like some invisible string was pulling it from her end. Shravan cursed himself silently.

And she had to go and name the kid Sahil. That was his favorite name. They had talked about his favorite comic character when they were in school. Sahil with an S. No doubt, still Suman's S. Independent jo theiri. Ma ke naam pe hi naamkaran kar di.

He scanned the room for her and her toddler, hoping to get another look at what half of Sumo's chromosomes could create. He had imagined her as a mom many a time in his fantasies, but always as mum to his own babies, not that Nirmala Ahuja's son's. That family took both the women he loved most in his life.

Announcer: And our first CNN Hero of the evening is...Suman Tiwaaariii!

Shravan snapped into attention, looking at the stage.

Announcer: CNN honors Suman Tiwari today for her selfless work at the Raguvar Tiwari School in Mumbai. Sumannn Tiwariii!

Aditi gaped as Suman walked up the stairs. Shravan's eyes followed her slowly as she got up the stairs extra-slowly for Sahil's benefit.

The four thousand people auditorium erupted in applause. Shravan shakily stood up to clap as the audience gave his Sumo a standing ovation.

How was it then?
