Hi everyone,

I am a regular viewer of Ishqbaaz, though I am not a regular visitor of this forum.

For long, I have been wanting to say something...though I dont know whether this would be taken positively or not.

My most favourite character in the show is Anika. I think she is absolutely brilliant.

The actress playing Anika is gorgeous 😳 n surprisingly very very promising as an actor...

However...there are times when I feel that, the wardrobe n aura of Anika is not apt for the 'middle-class' character that she is supposed to be.

I mean...she apparently doesnt know English...but the way she pronounces the few English words, n even addresses SSO...as Mr. Shivay Singh Oberoi, her accent doesn't look like she doesn't know English!! 😆

I absolutely love her 'Tadi' n 'Bagar Billo'...😆 but honestly, does she really sound like someone who doesn't know English? 😆

Her diction is a minor problem...coz she brillantly compensates it with her other antics.

But one thing that really bothers me is her wardrobe.

Please dont take offence anyone...I do not mean that middle class girls are not stylish...ofcourse there are all kinds of women everyone. What I feel is, the clothes of Anika are way too sophisticated n expensive for the character she plays. Dont you all feel the same?

On one hand, she is saving money with so much difficulty...on the other hand, she dresses up in beautiful, pink, silk top worth atleast 2K...with beautifully set hair...n stylish danglers😆(the day she got caught opening the door for Tia.)

She doesnt look like someone who is struggling to run her house at all.

Ya I know...the lead heroine should look gorgeous. But I dont feel the same about Ishana n the other girl. They perfectly look the part. Even Om's girlfriend looks her part.

But somehow...Anika's getup seems to be too glamorous n sophisticated to me...which is best explained by the journalist who looks at Anika's photo n says, 'Is she a celebrity?'...🤣

I know Surbhi is gorgeous...😳 n she will look amazing no matter wat she wears. But at the same time, I feel her get up should be made a bit less stylish...In other words, toned down a bit. All serials show middle-class girls with make-up. But few look so overtly glamorous like Anika.

I love Anika's beautiful appearance...but I feel her getup should be believable.

No offence meant to Surbhi/Anika fans...Just shared my opinion.

Thanks dear. In fact Anika looks more stylish than even Shivay's sister who is supposed to be a rich girl...😆

Lol... So true she looks way too stylish for the middle class character she's playing. That always worries me too she looks so modern you would expect someone like her to speak English, she doesn't look like a middel class girl from any angle.

Well she knows english as she hasalso done computer course in 12 days 😆

She knows the basic of it but is unable to digest heavy vocabulary and fluent english. That's what i have noticed.

I actually find Annika's clothing pretty apt.. they are not at all stylish, like the frill tops, loose blouses etc. They are definitely not really in sync with today's urban fashion. Her clothes look 'street-shopped' and given the fact that she had a catering business earlier, it does seem believable that she could afford at least that much. Plus let's not forget she went to the same college as Priyanka Singh Oberoi.😆 I think that's the idea. She does understand simple English, I would assume.

Personally, I think Annika's styling needs some work. I feel some looks are absolute disasters. But then again, it works with her character and her goofy nature. She looked lovely in the white churidaar in the rain.

I don't think her styling is sophisticated. Sophisticated style would be Tia's & some of rudra's gfs😆.
Priyanka has a much better style too eventhough she only wears Indian, but her style is rich, classy and elegant.

Annika wears modern clothes yes but they are never really out-and-out stylish. They look very normal, at least, in my opinion. And in terms of perfect hair & makeup all the time, it's Indian television. 😆 Suspension of disbelief toh banta hain !!😳

Amongst all the girls, I love Ishaana's styling the most - her bangles, earrings, anarkali, dupatta. They look beautiful.

I agree..may be it's the channel...because I once saw an episode of DABH and the house in the show looked kind of too sophisticated,tasteful and rich keeping in mind the characters,their economic status and the city they lived in...now I don't mean to say that nobody belonging to middle class income group can have good,classy taste..it is perfectly believable that anika has good fashion sense(though personally i haven't liked all her tops) but the thing is her clothes seem kind of expensive too..not just fashionably tasteful..and yup it's the always and perfectly set hair too..

IMO the creatives and channel should care more about giving realistic look to lead characters..like khushi and sanam before marriage(khushi toh had ghastly stuff even after marriage)

i think anika looks perfect as she is

being mdidle class doesn't mean you can't be fashionable, maybe she got everything in the sale

and as for diction im not an expert but she sounds perfect for the character

just my opinion

Well my opinion slightly differed from yours. I don't think she looks sophisticated. I think she looks middle class. Though I am not an Indian and have never been to India, so I have no idea what kinda clothes middle class girls wear but IMO Annika's style is indowestern and I think middle class girls nowadays do wear those kinda clothes and I asked some of my Indian friends here about this and they agree. I don't think clothing has anything to do with fluency in English...Annika I think didn't complete formal education due to lack of money which made her start working. Hence this probably explains her lack of fluency in English. Re. her diction, I think in primary school they teach students proper English diction na? So it probably comes from there...
