I got this feeling that maybe Abhi could be faking the ML. Before the accident he knew Pragya was the one who was target. He knew Tanu, Aliaya and Nikhil were all against him and Pragya. So in order to protect Pragya and get solid proof on them to get them jailed and out of their life for good, he is pretending to not remember everything. This way he can see Aaliya and Tanu's true colors while protecting his loved ones, especially Pragya.
