Not Sought Parineeti Chopra For Film With SRK : Anand L. Rai

Filmmaker Aanand L. Rai has rubbished rumours that he has cast actress Parineeti Chopra in his next film starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. He says he is yet to zero in on a leading lady.

When IANS contacted Rai asking him if he has finalised Parineeti for the movie, he said: "No, all these speculations are happening because of me... Because I am not touching the finishing line and coming up with the cast."

"These speculations are happening because of my laziness, but yes I will take a couple of weeks to take a call. I'm in talks with a few actors, but none of them has been finalised."

Asked if he has even approached Parineeti, he said: "No, I haven't. Give me two weeks and I will be able to talk about it in a better way."

Rai, who has made "Raanjhanaa" earlier, also said it is going to be a very tough film for him.

"It's a tough film for a person like me because this film will have everything, but technically it's challenging for me. The visual effects work for this film is something which will be very challenging for me as a director," Rai said.

Meanwhile, Rai is busy with the promotions of his production "Happy Bhag Jayegi".

Yup as of now, neither Deepika, Katrina or Parineeti has been chosen. I hope they won't be in the movie.

Anand you are worse like SLB with your casting. Just make an official statement or keep quite till then. Like SLB half bollywood was casted in his movie.

SLB and Anand L Rai will go over entire BW list before they finalize their main leads 😆

BM team says that cast will be announced by 15th august.

There is a chance that DP is doing both films..and they are working out the schedules🤔

I think DP would be finalised for this and Padmavati is almost sure.

This must be a 2 heroine project so we may have another actress joining in.

Im feeling bad for Pari, she has been trying, lobbying so hard to get a role in a major movie.

Wish someone would give her the chance to star in a biggie.

The actress will play a trapeze artiste in her next film, a musical drama; Suniel Shetty will play her father.

After her last cinematic outing sank without a trace in 2014, Parineeti Chopra decided to go on a break even as rumour mills continued to hint at her signing several films, including Salman Khan's latest Eid-release, a South film opposite Mahesh Babu, the much-talked about Dabangg 3, and, most recently, a sequel to Chameli Ki Shaadi in which she reportedly romances Udta Punjab debutant Diljit Dosanjh.

The 27-year-old actress who used the sabbatical to acquire a leaner, toned avatar was recently seen in the song "Jaaneman Aah" for Rohit Dhawan's Dishoom.

Now, Mirror has learnt that the actress has given her nod for a female-centric role in Circus. The musical-drama marks the directorial debut of choreographer Bosco Martis, one-half of the Bosco-Ceasar duo that has worked on films like Bang Bang, Shandaar, Tamasha, Dil Dhadakne Do and Queen. "Scripting for Circus began a year ago. It portrays a strong father-daughter relationship spanning a decade and will have Suniel Shetty playing Pari's dad. A child artiste will be cast to play the younger Pari," reveals a source. Both Suniel and Parineeti will have to look their fittest for the parts.

Parineeti is presently touring the US on the Dream Team concert tour and returns to the bay in September. "The trapeze sequences are strenuous. She will be training with gymnasts and acrobats and work on her stance and balance. The film will have extensive action and dance sequences with fire and water acts. There will be workshops with Pari and Suniel. The film rolls in December," adds the source.

Bosco, when contacted, revealed to Mirror that he had been planning to foray into direction for the last four years but refused to divulge further details. "There is nothing to say right now. We are still in the initial stages of production and casting. I have been in talks with the actors but Parineeti is yet to sign on the dotted line," Bosco signed off.

She must focus on films with younger heroes and giving atleast decent films. Not run after Khans blindly.
