Chapter 2

Khushi walked out from her house when she saw Arnav was sleeping at the balcony. She remembered their last encounter at night, she stared at him with a slight smile on her face when she saw him stirred in his sleep, the sun rays directly fall on his face which disturbed him, Khushi covered the sun by placing a cloth on a hanger, she remembered Arnav asked her to wake him up early, she was going to call him but stopped, she hesitated. Just then Khushi found her father walked out, "Eh.. Bauji.." She looked at Arnav who was lying on the floor, Shashi followed her gaze, "Khushi.. He..!" He ran to Arnav and called him, "Arnav..!! Arnav.."

As Shashi slightly shook him, Arnav slowly opened his eyes, Once his vision gets clear, he gets up quickly, he looked his surroundings. "Arnav.. Why are you sleeping here?"

"Eh.. Last night.. I came here.. And I drifted in sleep here only." Arnav said slightly rubbing his eyes.

"Okay.. Come.. Come inside.." Shashi said and looked at Khushi asking, "Serve him tea..!" Khushi shook her head and they walked in.

Arnav came back to the room after taking a hot shower, he was checking the business updates when Khushi served him the tea, "Thank you."

Khushi smiled at him and was going to leave when she heard Shyam's voice, she turned at the door and found him standing there, "Wah Khushi jee wah..!!" Hearing his voice, Arnav too looked at the direction, at the same time Khushi was shivering in fear which Arnav noticed. "Yesterday when I asked you to marry me, you denied and at the same night you brought a new guy at your place. Wah..! Who is he haan..? Your lover ya.. One night.." But before Shyam could say anything Arnav took few steps forward saying, "Hey Mr.. Hold on your tongue."

Shyam glared at him angrily, "Oho..! Possessive haan..! Anyways.. I am not talking with you. I want Khushi.. So you stay away.." He slightly pushed Arnav. Shyam approached to Khushi, "Khushi jee.. I don't care, whether you have done with him at night or not. I truly loves you. Come.. Lets go with me." He held her hand tightly and dragged her when Khushi pleaded, "No.. I don't want to go with you. Please leave me. I will pay your house rent. Please leave."

When suddenly Khushi felt her another hand was held by someone, she turned back and saw Arnav was held. "Hey you.. Leave her hand." Shyam said.

"She doesn't want to go with you. So you leave." Arnav said angrily while free her hand from Shyam's grip. Khushi quickly hide herself behind Arnav. "Listen Mr.. You can't take her without her permission. So better you go or else it will not take much time for me to send you behind the bars." Arnav said with gritted teeth.

As Shyam heard about police, he became quiet polite, "What is this sir.. Why are you taking police here? Actually sir.. They didn't pay my house rent so..."

As Arnav heard about money, he asked, "How much..?"

"Sir.. 10,000.." As Shyam said Khushi said, "No.. It's 5000."

Arnav didn't care and tore a cheque of 10,000 and handed him," Now don't you dare to misbehave with them. From now you will get your rent every month. Now leave.." He sternly said when Shyam took leave with a smile.

Arnav turned at Khushi and assured, "Don't worry Khushi.." Shashi was looking whatever happened, he smiled mentally.

"But.. But why did you pay him?" Khushi asked looking down.

"I have done what I feel right. You don't think much about it." Arnav could feel her trauma so he changed the topic asking, "By the way do you have anything to eat? I am so hungry."

Khushi quickly walked to the kitchen. Just then Shashi walked in asking, "Arnav.. Khushi was right.. Why.."

"Oho uncle.. If you have problem.. Then I will cut some money from your salary. Is that okay?"

"Okay.." Arnav sighed.

"Anyways.. Now you please get ready fast.. We need to go somewhere." Arnav said.

"But where? You have another meeting." Shashi reminded him.

"I know uncle. But this work is more important than anything. So please." Shashi shook his head and went inside, soon they took leave from there.

"Arnav jee.. Where are we going?" Shashi asked confuse as the it wasn't the way to office.

"Wait.."

Soon they reached the hospital and informed Shashi about his treatment but he didn't agree to go but Arnav convinced him somehow.

2 hours later,

Arnav and Shashi walked in the office, though doctor asked him to admit today itself as they need to start treatment as soon as possible but Shashi denied and said he will admit after one day as doctor said its last stage so result can be positive or negative.

Arnav looked at Shashi lost in thoughts, "Don't worry uncle, everything will be fine." He assured.

Soon the meeting started, some clients arrived from abroad and they asked to visit to the construction area so everyone went there along with Arnav, Shashi.

It was around 2pm, today Shashi was so busy in works that he couldn't able to call Khushi, Arnav was talking with the clients when suddenly he saw a man came there running calling Shashi's name, Arnav quickly excused himself and stopped the person, "What happened?"

"Sir.. Sir.. Khushi beetiya.." He huffed, Arnav looked at him worried, "What happened with her?"

"Sir.. That Shyam.. He came again and.. And took her.." Hearing this Arnav's anger had no bound, "What.. Do you know where did he take her?"

"I.. I followed him.. They went to the temple." As the person said, Arnav rab away from there but stopped thinking, "Shashi uncle.." He looked back and found him busy with the clients, so he took leave.

Arnav reached the temple and searched around when he saw them near to the idol, he ran to there and saw Shyam was forcing her to take round around the holy fire. "Shyam..." Arnav shouted and his hand turned into fist, Arnav glared at their hand which Shyam was holding Khushi. "Shyam leave her."

"No. I won't.. She is mine.. Only mine.." Meanwhile Khushi struggled in his grip. Arnav ran to him and forcefully free her hand from his grip, and held Shyam by his collar, "How dare you to touch her?? I warned you to stay away from them."

"Why should I listen you! Who the hell are you? I love her and I will marry her. You can't do anything." Shyam said with rage and free himself and was going to take Khushi's hand but Arnav stopped him and punched on his face, "Don't you take her name in your filthy mouth."

Shyam spitted the blood and he too punched back Arnav with rage and they had a fight when Shashi arrived there with the police.

Arnav pushed him towards the police saying, "Take him."

Police took leave with Shyam when Arnav looked at Khushi completely scared, seeing her father she ran to him and hugged him, "Bauji.. He..!" She cried.

"It's okay beta.. See..!! Police arrested him. Now he will not disturb you anymore. Don't cry." He assured.

Arnav approached to them asking, "But how come you get to know about this?"

"I saw you leaving, I asked the person, he said.. I felt something going to happen so I took police."

Arnav shook his head, "Don't worry.. I will look after it that he will not get release soon." he assured and they took leave.

Arnav was sitting in Gupta's place when his phone rang, he answered, "Hello..!"

"Bro.. Where are you?? You didn't call us.. I called in hotel, they said you didn't even check in.. Where are you? Maa is so tensed for you." Akash threw billion of questions. Arnav then informed him everything.

"Bro.. Lavanya and her mom came yesterday.. They came to fix your and Lavanya's engage.." But Akash stopped as Arnav said, "Akash do me a favor.. Handle ma somehow and ask Lavanya to wait until I reach there. Please.. I don't want them to discuss my engagement during my absence."

"Okay bro.. I will talk.."

Soon they hang up the call, Arnav turned and found Khushi was standing, he smiled at her when she walked in and handed him the first aid box, "Eh..! Apply it.." She said politely looking at his injured hand.

"Thanks."

Khushi was going to leave but stopped as she saw Arnav was opening the box, he took few cotton and cleared the blood, then he put ointment and tried to tie the bandage but he felt difficulty. He tried many times but failed when Khushi came to him asking, "May I..?"

Arnav looked up at her but didn't say anything when Khushi took sit beside him and gently took his hand and tied the bandage, "I am sorry."

"For what?" Arnav asked confuse.

"You put yourself in trouble for me. You fought with him for me and your hand.." She paused as her voice choked.

"Khushi.. Don't feel bad.. I would do the same if anyone be at your place." He said with a smile.

".. And I am sorry.. I heard your conversation now.. I know it wasn't good to hear anyone's conversation but I came to give you the box.." Arnav smiled at her innocence, "It's okay Khushi.. I was talking with my brother, he said maa is worried." Meanwhile Shashi saw them together, he remembered how Arnav fight for his daughter, he left smiling.

She shook her head, "So you are getting engage..!"

"Huh..!" Arnav blinked his eyes and remembered Akash's word about Lavanya. "Oh.. Yeah. Yes.. But not now.. Once I go back, I will talk.."

"Hmm.. I think I saw her photo. She's beautiful." Khushi commented.

"How do you know? Where you saw..?" Arnav asked.

"On your wallet. When you were giving money to Shyam, my eyes fall on that photo. She is your would be fiance no?"

Arnav smiled thinking how Lavanya kept her photo in his wallet, he mentally sighed.

At night,

After having dinner, Arnav went out to have a cigarette when Khushi too walked out to feel the fresh weather when she inhaled the smoke and coughed.

"Oh.. I am sorry.." He apologized.

"Can I say you something?" Khushi asked when Arnav nodded, "You know smoking is injurious for health. You shouldn't have it. It can affect your health." saying this Khushi walked in when Arnav looked at her amazed as no one never asked him to stop smoking, not even his mother, though indirectly but she mean it, Arnav smiled and throw the cigarette and went to his room to sleep.

Loved it

Glad Arnav was able to save Khushi from Shyam and send him behind bars. Shashi is happy to see the closeness between Arnav and Khushi. Will Shashi ask Arnav to take care of his daughter since he is in final stage of his disease. Now Khushi knew that Arnav is about to get engaged to Lavanya is that why she tells him to go back and get married to her. Unknowingly both Arnav and Khushi are coming together. Waiting for the next one.
