Yesterday wash horrible, i skimmed first and just didn't get what was happening then I sat down after your take about it and saw it again.Horrible.

I don't know why was Meera leaving so suddenly , the reason..there was hardly any context to her emotion. No anger, no worry about Amar , no reaction wrt to her family or even one moment of sanity. Her random dancing made no sense and I had no clue why suddenly Pant Cousins were manaoing her. This is her big allergy to peanuts?

I cannot stand slapstick comedy either, those SRK poses were just bad. I mean, why will Meera make Abhi do that. I get she is whimsical, flighty but that was as random as it gets. Made a joke out of her whole arc and character.

Then I was hoping for the scene with Rohan, yaar, like that be the highlight ..but did that scene made sense..matlab tha kya woh?

Party- Rich kid sends cake and party things and all is happy. You see my problem, what will Meera's impression be without the money and how will she be able to sustain without it. practical things hai..but sometimes.

Also, I know her family is not as loud as Pants but they were considerate to her, listen to her and are fond of her all the time. But suddenly what was that b'day party thing..umm, I felt they went overboard there. It wasn't suppose to play like that.

Ramnath ka toh, I don't even so many emotional pathos and such a silly resolution.

Meh.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one going W*F over the SRK poses...random nonsense.

Word about the Raizadas...all of a sudden they are being made out to be the epitome of neglectful parents...just to build up the Pants...why can't these differences be shown without resorting to this caricaturishness?

The random b'day party and decor came out of nowhere and that is why fell so utterly flat...and I'm not going to mince words anymore...an already wafer thin characterization is not being helped any further by Namita's super casual nearly one-note acting either.

All of a sudden Babli popped back on to the top floor yesterday in time to get all senti over the b'day party tooo😕😆...

Usually Abhi was kinda holding this together but yesterday even he was reduced to slapstick SRK...so let down on all ends, frankly...like you said, the Rohan scene had potential to make up for an otherwise vapid epi but they bungled up even that bit.

Why do shows always do this, Genie? *sigh*

@AY- I have no idea. I think either we are just too over the stupidity of desi tv and our tolerance is just gone. But that SRk pose, the stupidity of editors ..I mean, nothing made sense. So early in a show that had so much potential.

LOL yes woh toh I've long since lost patience for the general prevailing stupidity that is Indian TV but kal toh it seems like they lost their epi bank or something or suddenly felt extreme pressure to rush through the series...I just can't reconcile that epi with what we've been watching and liking past two weeks😕

^^It seemed like scenes got chopped off or something. I don't know how the start of the episode or the party scene came up. But then nothing explains the random comparison of Pants and Raizadas'. It's so jarring what they are trying to do by drawing that parallel and putting the other down when the audience has seen the ugly side of Pants' too. No family is perfect. But suddenly making them seem so distant when this family overlooked Meera flunking twice, agreeing to her whimsical ways, checking on her , her sister constantly worrying..matlab, kya?

Exactly this! That one time was ok, but if this is going to be their norm of comparing the two families, then it ain't gonna work so well. The beginning episodes portrayed the contrast of two families in a better...subtle way. Why is there a need to garishly blow the contrasts in our faces?!

The episode yesterday was off on many levels, so much so, that I was wondering whether I'm watching the same show😳.

Anu, I guess our speculation on Namita's ability to portray different shades /nuances of her character is coming through. Granted that this show's supposed to have a "light-hearted" tone but it wouldn't make sense to just rely on Abhishek to bring about the emotional aspect of their "story" while Meera's character just goes about galloping merrily.

@Nymeria- Is it me only who felt Namita was fading alot yesterday, she was dull and off, I get she doesn't have writing but certain scenes were totally blank..she doesn't hold the expression for long, or I dunno..something majorly was off with Meera.

You know it isn't even about the emotional aspect, it's about connect, period...which comes from depth...you can't just go around bouncing like a frivolous, vapid minded individual and expect to connect with audiences...cuz any good story...making or breaking it is dependent on how much depth and connect you are able to build...without those things, these characters might as well just be paper dolls standing around...and what is there to watch in that.

Meera can be a very interesting character if they bother with nuance...a one note randomly bouncing around hyper chick does not for compelling viewing make...Namita is not that spontaneous or charming an actress to manage to light up a one note character.

But I guess as Genie said...TV hardly gets that free spirited female lead character right...it's either too loud or totally without depth...no middle ground.
