I had no idea what to expect because I hadn't seen any promos, had no idea it even existed and didn't know who was in the cast. I have never seen any of these actors before. I went into it blind but my... have my eyes opened. The show is surprisingly quite good. It's such a pleasant, slice of life show. Quite relatable even though most of us do not live in joint families.
-Abhishek, finally a show which focuses on their male lead without sacrificing the female lead or sidelining the guy. He's very likeable from the very beginning without even trying. I expect the show to really explore his character in the days to come. Now this is someone I would strive to be like - patient, understanding, sensitive, responsible. Or just get me such a man to marry - it's the only time I will ever even consider marriage as an option in my life.
-Meera oh Meera, now this character stumped me. I absolutely adore her, they have created this unique female lead without her being OTT (usually a common occurrence with such characters). This one has won me over. She's so sure of herself. She knows she has shortcomings which she recognizes and tries to rectify in her own unique way. Meera seems like someone who is confused about everything yet she is able to rationalize everything so simply. How quickly she realized Rohan's distress and took charge; give her more credit, this girl is perceptive.
-Rohan is a sweetheart. I am happy with the way they have treated this character thus far. I sincerely hope he does not become a caricature and they continue with the sensitive portrayal. Yes he has an intellectual disability but he still understands everything that goes on in the house; recognizes his older brother's difficulties, the challenges he faces, and his emotions when no one else sees them. Take a bow writers, it's probably the first time on Indian telly an intellectually disabled character has been written with so much sensitivity and realism.
-The rest of the family is growing on me. They are like any other middle class family; they have their ups and downs but in the end they stick together. Yes they mess up, yes they shirk responsibilities but in each member resides a good heart which shines through in times of need. They will only get better with time.
-The Raizada family was pretty cool. It felt nice seeing that the rich guys can be just like us regular joes; they have the same issues plaguing them.
Why aren't more people watching this show?
