This is an os I wrote for shravan and sumo
I wrote this for another couple but I felt it suited these two as well. So I tweaked it a little bit and here it is. I hope you like it.
Shravan woke up from the sun shining brightly on his tanned face.
''Ugghh yaar someone turn down the sun it's too bright " he complained in his sleep.
"Rise and shine sleeping beauty! Come on you have to wake up. You can't sleep in all day"
Shravan knew that voice too well, it was the one voice that was embedded in his brain. He couldn't go one day without listening to it.
"Come on suman, just 5 more minutes. Please have some mercy" he whined into his pillow, turning his head to the other side to avoid the scorching sun.
"Nope no mercy, come on" suman tried to reason with him
But when she saw he was already drifting back to sleep, she had to go to her last resort.
"Aakhri baar pooch rahi hoon, will you get up or no?"
The grunt she received in reply just added fuel to her already intense anger.
She grabbed the already waiting pitcher of ice cold water on the side table with frustration and without thinking twice dumped all its contents Straight on shravan's head.
Shravan jumped up completely awake and very cold. But not at all surprised after all this was a regular morning ritual of their's.
"Dude!, I'm getting sick and tired of this." Shravan said feigning anger "You can't keep treating me like this. You have to show me some respect after all I am your f-"
But his pretense was interrupted with a burst of giggles.
Suman stood there giggling away. " I thought lawyers were supposed to be excellent at feigning things but you could seriously use some acting lessons."
The sight of his suman standing there just laughing away, completley unaware of the cruelties life was capable of throwing your way warmed shravan's heart. If he had to choose one sight to always remember in his life, then it would be this one. But he looked away he didn't want to look too long at her and unintentionally cast an evil eye on her. He wasn't superstitious but he could never take risks with his suman's happiness. He knew life was very unfair it could give you the world of happiness only to sweep them out from under your feet the very next moment. He of all people knew it very well.
He was brought out from his reverie with a towel on his head.
He looked at suman in an inquisitive manner.
"I don't want you to catch a cold, I don't like it when you are uncomfortable." She said innocently.
Shravan couldn't help but admire her. He was so lucky to have her.
"OK go get dressed I'm going to go to the kitchen to eat a Gulab jamun. I'm hungry"
"Kya? Gulab ja- subha subha meetha mat khao. It's not good for you. Suman!" He hollered after her.
But it was too late she was already sliding her way down the railing of the staircase.

Shravan came out of the shower drying his hair and whistling when his gaze fell upon the calendar.
"7th March" he breathed as tears formed at the brim of his eyes threatening to make their way down.
Suddenly he could hear everything again, the honking of the car, the blood curdling scream and the sound of his world crashing down.
Two words said to him snapped him out of that heart wrenching memory.
"What's wrong " asked suman worriedly looking up from her book.
"Nothing" shravan smiled gently.
"Then Don't make that face because a) it worries me and b) I'm looking at a very difficult recipe and your expression distracts me" She reprimanded.
Even when his suman scolded him, he Felt immeasurable love and adoration for her. He walked up to her and lifted her in the air.
She squealed in surprise then started laughing.
"You made me drop my book" she said pretending to be annoyed just as shravan had done in the morning.
Shravan put her down.
"sorry wrestler madam" he joked.
"Hawww don't say that i'm not that aggressive"
"Yes you are, har baat pe tumhare paas ulta jawab hota hai" Shravan said pinching suman's nose in affection.
"Acha sorry you're not a wrestler you are my princess. I love you." He said.
"I love you too" suman smiled. "You love me more than anyone else right?"
Shravan could feel his resolve breaking but he couldn't cry in front of his daughter.
'Come on shravan be a man' he tried to reason with himself
He quietly watched as he let his daughter have time with her mother.
"Maama aapko pata hai i topped my class again. Aur woh jo bohut mushkil recipe thi na? The one I was trying to master for ages? I finally did it! Maine bana ke sab ko khilayi, everyone loved it. Paapa toh apni fingers chaat te reh gaye the.
And you know that girl jeena I told you about? The one who used to bully me. Well she came and apologised.
Shocking haina? but I think she realised her mistake after I helped her when she got hurt. Ma as always you were right. Kindness goes a long way. Obviously thora bohut toh sunaya phir hi jaake toh line pe aayi woh.
I know perfection ko match karna thora mushkil hai but like you always said keep trying.
After all mera aur aapka naam bhi toh same hai. Watch, I am gonna make you and paapa very proud one day.
I miss you maama. Everything about you. I can remember everything about you. The way your laugh sounded, the way your perfume smelled, how your eyes sparkled when you would cook.
Aap mujhe bhooli toh nahi na? Agar aap nahi bhooli toh aap wapas kyun nahi aaja ti?
I miss you more than anything I need my best friend back,i need my mentor back...
With that she ran away which shravan suspected was because she wanted to hide her tears from him.
"Sumo" shravan said as he crouched down against the grave "upar kisi ka munh toh nahi tordiya gusse main?"
he started laughing which slowly transformed into the tears he had been holding back.
"Kaisi ho? Did you hear? I won that mehta wala case. Bhool gayi? The one jisko lekar main bohut zyada tension main tha. Yaar bataya tha na maine jab last time aaya tha tumse milne. Seriously I thought ke main uss bechare farmer ko justice nahi dilwa paoonga. But hogaya. All thanks to the unflinching faith you have in me

A sad smile overcame his face "Nope, there is one person i love more than you."
At first his reply puzzled suman then realisation dawn upon her.
"Oh yeah I love her more than anyone else too. Even more than you" she nodded knowingly.
"Let's go meet her" shravan said
While suman said "i want to visit her right now" at the same time.
Both chuckled, put their arms around each other and headed off to meet the single most important person in their lives.
At first his reply puzzled suman then realisation dawn upon her.
"Oh yeah I love her more than anyone else too. Even more than you" she nodded knowingly.
"Let's go meet her" shravan said
While suman said "i want to visit her right now" at the same time.
Both chuckled, put their arms around each other and headed off to meet the single most important person in their lives.

Shravan stood there with his eyes closed and felt the wind rushing towards him. It was as if he felt her presence there.
"Hi maama" he heard suman say in front of him.
And he opened his eyes and saw suman crouching down against the marble stone in front of her and stroking it lovingly.
Shravan's eyes wandered to the headboard attached to the marble stone and read the inscription on it;
Suman 'sumo' Malhotra
Shravan stood there with his eyes closed and felt the wind rushing towards him. It was as if he felt her presence there.

The one that my school organised? Remember how much fun we had.
Well school is organising it again for the younger kids.
Wahan pe ek bachi thi, she was crying when I asked her she told me she didn't have a mother to go with so I decided I'll take her.

Suddenly she turned around "maama I forgot to tell you I'm going to try and make a creme brulee today. I'll tell you how it turned out the next time I come.
Bye maama I love you more than you will ever know"
At this point suman had started crying.

Tumhe ghar pe sab bohut miss karte hai. Nana ji toh pura din tumhari photo se baatein karte rehte hain. Aur lala Ji? Pura din suman puttar ki haath ke carelle, uske haath ka halwa bolte unka munh nahi thak ta. Pushkar aur preeti bhi tumhe bohut miss karte hain. Abh unke 2 bachein hai. Dono bohut khush hai.

Pata hai tumhe hum sab ko chore 3 saal hogayein hain lekin aaj bhi humare ghar main sirf tumhari hi baatein hoti hai.
Vandy bhabhi aayin thi aaj tumse milne? Janta hoon ayin thi. Yeh lilies unhone hi raakhein honge. Uff pata nahi woh angrez kaise agayi humare ghar main. Haha. Pata hai aaj subha subha chachi kitchen main ghuss kar khud apne haath se tumhari favourite cheezein bana rahi thi. Waise tum dono ka rishta bohut ajeeb hai. Pehle jab woh tumhari dushman thi tab tum unka peecha hi nahi chorti thi lekin jab she realised her mistake and you both became best friends then you left her alone why?
Sab ko akela kardiya...kisi ke baare main nahi socha? Apni bachi tak ke baare main nahi socha? Kya mere pyaar kam pargaya tha? Theek hai, shayad. Lekin baaki sab ka kya? Tumhari family, meri family, HUMARI family.

Pata hai junior suman bilkul tumhari tarha hai. Har cheez main. Puri ki puri wrestler hai. Just as aggressive as you were but equally as pure hearted. Even though she is only 10 but she acts as if she is 30. I'm so glad I have her ussi ke Sahare zinda hoon.
Lekin tumhari jagah koi nahi lesakta.
Pata hai jab bhi problem main hota hoon sirf soch ta hoon ke tum kya bolti aur phir wahi karta hoon.

Shravan could continue no more, his sobs wouldn't let him. He broke down.
He was crying in despair when he felt a presence next to him and looked up and saw his sumo next to him.
Smiling. Her eyes glassy .

I'm sorry, I never wanted to hurt you. I love you more than anything. I love my family, my daughter. I love you all so much. Lekin pata hai I'm not worried because I know ke tum sab ek doosre ko sambhallenge.
I just know it. Meri family hai hi aisi they stick together during difficult times."
Sumo put her hand on shravan's shoulder.
"Tumhe pata hai I'm always with you. Toh kya hua agar hum apni poori life saath nahi guzar sake. You still have the memories. Woh har ek moment jo humne saath guzara hai. Unhe kabhi mat bhool na suman ke saath saath woh bhi humare pyaar ki nishani hai. Even if you can't see me. I'm always there with you in your heart. You know why? Because ours is a true love. And it never dies. I'm here with you. Always. "
Shravan broke out of his imagination, his eyes still glassy but a ghost of a smile began to appear on his lips because he knew no matter, what his best friend, his love, his sumo will always be there with him. Always and forever.
No matter what...
I just know it. Meri family hai hi aisi they stick together during difficult times."
Sumo put her hand on shravan's shoulder.
"Tumhe pata hai I'm always with you. Toh kya hua agar hum apni poori life saath nahi guzar sake. You still have the memories. Woh har ek moment jo humne saath guzara hai. Unhe kabhi mat bhool na suman ke saath saath woh bhi humare pyaar ki nishani hai. Even if you can't see me. I'm always there with you in your heart. You know why? Because ours is a true love. And it never dies. I'm here with you. Always. "
