Hola folks,
I am on episode 81 now! Yes, that means I am past the confession episode...😊. Yesterday ...I just sat on my device and watched one episode after the other for several hours...Hubby was really upset that I "wasted" a perfectly wonderful Saturday and refused to go out...😳...but as much as I tried to tell myself all the stuff waiting for me...upcoming travel...all the shopping that needs to be done, a performance of Othello in town...this and that...but nothing could make me put that device down...! Well ...now that I am past that...I think I have to slow it down...,also have a book club meeting on Friday and I am not even done with reading half the book...😛

Any who...back to KRP...years after years I have watched desi soaps that take a love story and stretch it like a rubber band...lacing it with all kinds of plots which often involve misunderstanding...and crazy things...for months and months...and we the viewers ...many of who have no interest in such crazy and made up stuff watch it...for small trickle of that love story that we like...But ...with KRP...I am just so pleasantly surprised that none of that is true...so far...The love story is as natural as it can be...The leads have already confessed to each other...even the "other woman" ...yes Natasha has been shown to be very reasonable and understanding. And no, they haven't fallen in love because they are the only reasonably "desirable" characters in the story...There is a good looking, good natured and very competent secretary; there is another rich, good looking dude who is quite interested in the FL...These are not desperate people with no choices ...They DO have plenty of choices and are not forced into anything due to some kind of "situation" ...They are "choosing" to do what they want to do...knowing fully well what are the options and consequences...NOW that's what makes it so good in my opinion...

Every show or a piece of creative work requires everything to click to make a lasting impression...The actors have to make the characters believable...the director has to show the story in a way...that it remains intriguing and interesting at the same time, the cameraman the background music person, the editor, the costume designer...everyone has to do their jobs well for creating a product that the audience buys into...BUT most importantly, in my opinion, it is the team of writers that can make or break a story...They are the ones who conceive these characters we fall in love with or hate...or sometimes neither of those...but just relate to in some ways...if not all...and that's where I think...KRP team has been really impressive! Even side plots are so interesting, funny and enjoyable...like the one in which Sona's mom is trying to become a writer...

I AM LOVING IT!!

And here is a song I thought of for the lovely couple...Dev and Sona ...

One of the most romantic songs ever for a love story like this!! I think it is also appropriate because Sona in one scene describes being in love as watching the world through rose glasses which is the essence of this song!

Hi Sush,
I have followed your analysis since the RR days and I was looking forward to your takes as I started watching this show as I felt you would definitely appreciate the fresh approach.
I love romantic shows but honestly none holds my interest after a few episodes. This one is so relatable and so natural that I have stuck to it as a loyal viewer.
The acting and the costumes are so underplayed that it actually comes across a great relief.
Supriyaji is absolutely fabulous as Ishwari. As much as I understand your professional commitments would definitely love to read your takes once in awhile.Enjoy the colours of love!!!

Lovely analysis. The realistic approach is what made me like the show. I have been out of sync with hindi serials for more than 2 years now. After hearing raving reviews of kuch rang from one of my sisters i thought ill watch a couple of episodes for her sake. The next week i got hooked in it and spent 2 whole days in watching YT videos back to back to catch up on the show. Im feeling quite guilty these days actually cox im a big workaholic and now all my free time and some of my work time too is spent on kuch rang. I need to find a balance somehow.

Ha ha...I hear you girl! 😆 Looks like you are experiencing the "falling in love" syndrome with the serial...I know the feeling...😉

I used to read your episode takes of RR. Nice to see you here. Guess birds of a feather flock together. We are all die hard romantics but it takes a good love story esp that which is told well to get us together. 😃
Really love the refreshing approach of this serial, the lovely conversations, the beautiful leads including Ma. Look forward to your takes. 👍🏼
