All promos told us and we know. This story is about 3 people's emotional, psychological, personal journey of love. In all the promos, the Ma is invisible but very visible & the words point towards a silent manipulation because she does not dislike Sona. She just loves Dev at the exclusion of all.
As much as Ishwari's reaction in yesterday's episode irked me and the Monday promo made me speechless! But unless they go to the bottom of the mother's emotional turmoil, there will be no story. Ishwari's reaction was instant emotional outburst at the 'situation' and the alarm bells went 'there is someone else in my darling Son's life'!
Reminds me of the episode when Ishwari says, 'we lost everything but I saved one silver glass as that had my first born's name written on it'. Felt bad for the other 3 kids then but...
The umbilical cord never got cut and never was as strong with her other children.
In trying to build a materially secure life, the Dixit's never developed emotionally. All they did was build a bond of dependency. Ishwari much more probably because she just had to switch to the mode of provider right after losing her Husband and just focus on managing life with no time to properly grieve. When you don't have an emotional outlet, things rot inside and your facade becomes you.
This is ugly but probably it is needed for Ishwari to come back to herself.
None of us has an adjust switch - not in relationships.
Dev has found his emotional outlet and is gradually changing from the hard person to the real human he is.
Sona comes from a wholesome family and therefore has a solid emotional base. And like Dev told her once, 'my family is complicated. I try to keep everyone happy but something always happens. It's lucky to have your kind of family'.
The bandage has just been ripped and it's going to be ugly at the Dixit home but better now than to let it fester!
Why Sona is caught between all this - She is not. She has fallen in love with someone & this emotion cannot be momentary and like she said once, 'when it comes to family, you just take the good with the bad'.
Why is she perpetually the healer - because she brings in that much needed different perspective.
As long as she doesn't lose her respect (bending little in love, we all do but...) and doesn't get walked over... Let this woman be the strength of this broken family but with her head held high. Let her be in love with a Man who might be conflicted but never spineless.
As they said many times, this is the same old story just told more realistically.
After my initial reaction to the precap and feeling the disgust, I am deciding to give them the benefit of doubt. Hopefully, the dialogues expands to - 'felt like we are not 2 but 1 and thought you will never hide anything from me. Now you have started doing things without even sharing, even important things!'
One episode is just a moment in time in the story and as the bandage just got ripped, the hurt was immensely ugly ... and Scary!
But I know this is the main story from the start and there is absolutely no reason to reject Sona so has to be all psychological.
My only request to the makers is - now that the initial shock of the knowledge is done, please tone down
the scary expressions. They make the Mother look deranged. Insecure, angry, confused, hurt, stubborn, loving, ... all mixed in one... seem ok. Supriyaji is a beautiful actress. Give her the right cues please.
Rest, I guess, picture abhi baaki hai :)
