After Wednesday's episode that left me with an incompelte feeling, there was something about yesterday's episode that made me connect to it at so many levels. I wondered how Sona was going to convince Dev.. and as per spoilers if Dev would have agreed just because Sona was there then I would have been so disappointed.
But, She is your Strength and God is hers... was such a beautiful thing to say.
Sona was not preachy and that's what I loved about the entire episode. She egged him to think of his mother's happiness and ease his mother of her guilt. It wasn't for love, it wasn't for her... and I think the CVs stood ground.
This is such a sensitive topic to touch and full justice to the scene. It was a very beautifully conceptualized and executed scene.
There are a lot of emotions flowing in the forum that talk about how Dev snapped...and he refused to change for Sona..
My take on that.
No you don't
Without knowing the reason Sona probed him for a reason. He is not yet healed.. The day Dev lost his faith was the day he also lost his father. And knowing unknowingly Sona reminded him of his pain. Dev is right Sona doesn't know and she won't..
Losing a parent is painful enough... but at such a young age impact the formative years of a child.
Dev not only lost his faith but also his father.
Losing one's parent at a young age is a pain that can be understood only by someone in a similar situation.. So Dev nonchalantly telling her you don't is not too far from the truth. The irritation is also from the point that he obviously doesn't wish for her to understand that as well...Hence he snapped.
Thereby he came out rude or snappy and I thought that went with his character.
Dev.. Saying I can't change for you...
I thought this was honest. Dev has many shades and Sona fell in love with him accepting all his shades. The same Dev if he had said I will change for you would have become a Love Struck Puppy and with no spine and that's not the Dev we all love.
Women who fall in love or girls who think they can change a man after marriage this is an eye opener... Believe me... that don't... we change with time not just because some one asked us to. Once Dev is healed he will change but saying he will change for Sona would be far from the truth. 👏👏
But People change, circumstances change and that is the beauty of any relationship that it lets you grow, change but at your own pace.. It lets you be...
Sona saying Sorry to Dev
Sona unknowing reminded him of his pain and he is right she doesn't know... So she said sorry for trying to open the box of painful memories. If you can't heal it, then you shouldn't rub salt either. For Sona it was a simple matter of sitting in the puja. for Dev it was accepting not the loss of his faith but his father. Hence Sona saying sorry was for undermining the issue.
Dev not saying Sorry to Sona...
Love is not about who said sorry. Love is acknowledging and Dev just did. He noticed that she addressed his mother ma when even she didn't realize. It was an acknowledgement that I know why you are doing what you are doing and I don't doubt the intention. He said I noticed it and I liked it.
My take is , It was his way of saying, I may not agree with you but I am so happy that you are treating this like your problem, even if it isn't... That's more than what a sorry could communicate.
Overall a beautiful conversation that communicated so many things... I loved it...
