I strongly disagree that people who are similar in character do not make a good pair. Why wouldn't they? I believe that subconsciously, most people seek partners whom they have many things in common with, especially when it comes to settling down and such things. They'd have a great understanding, specifically if both partners are mature, they'd have the potential to grow and learn together as time passes and they can be more compatible in the long run. Likeness does attract likeness, in many cases. We could say it's boring (which I don't think it is) but real life is not a TV serial, how many of us truly would want such dramas to unfold in our own lives? And even in shows, we have had people with similar characteristics casted opposite each other like Viren-Jeevika and Maanvi-Viraat from EHMMBH or Kabir-Nisha from NAUC, and I'm sure there are many other examples, as well - pairs which had great chemistry and which people enjoyed a lot.

@bold: Same applies to couples, whether opposites or not, who have been together for years or even less. At one point, you'll know each other inside out, that's how many relationships work. Should they not be together just because there's nothing new to learn about each other? Of course not; it's great if you have reached a level in your relationship where you understand your partner without effort, where you know them as much as they know themselves and where you are aware of every detail revolving around your partner. Besides, there's always something to learn in life, learn together, grow together. Challenges most often come in form of circumstances, after all.

Having said that, I'm not denying that opposites attract, and they do make for a good story if executed well like everything else. Neither am I saying that Ishana is totally unsuitable for Om, she might turn out to be good for him, actually. It all depends on how their story progresses. Even if I am not impressed, right now, it might change- they've just started, after all. It's in the hands of the writers.

100% agree!
And coming from someone who loves watching love hate stories, it's a lot of fun, and the chemistry is sizzling.
But to say that people who're similar bore each others, is a grossly wrong assumption.
When it comes to Indian television, the makers fail to create variety and a broad character(atleast in most of the shows) and hence there are only two types of relationship bondings possible, one where there are complete polar opposites. Which again, sizzling chemistry, but passion and chemistry die down. And if you look at it realistically, talking from personal experience, people who are complete polar opposites in every way, it makes life extremely hard. You can't agree on anything and your morals and ideals are different, and basically life is just a boat through a storm, and it is hardly as romantic as it sounds.

On the other hand, couples with similar characters are perceived as boring because they're 'basically dating themselves'. But no two people are ever the same. Everyone's different in their own way, and if you find someone who shares the same interests with you and also strikes a passion within you, then life's going to be a lot smoother and easier. Also, you'd be surprised how funny and interesting similar couples can be, they understand each other so well and have their own set of jokes and collective passion.

It's basically about striking a balance, and also about your needs. Some people put passion and chemistry as the top priority, while others need a companion more than anything.

P.S. I'm kind of sleep deprived so I'm not sure if I just typed a bunch of horseshit or not.
P.P.S. Definitely not trying to being mean to anyone here

Thank you for typing all that down because I don't have to repeat it. The misconception that love stories of similar people are boring is so very popular. But Ami has spoken how wrong it is. My problem is the opposites attract theory. I do see that the theory works, but intrinsically the couples in such situations will be the same. As different as they are in the outside they will be driven by the same passions inside.

I see that you must have watched NBTNMKK @TM. You must have liked Meghan too. They used the opposites attract theory but they did give them similarities. Meghan were extremely different outside but they were made of the same virtues of self righteousness, honesty, courage and love. Till now I haven't seen such similarities of virtues between Ishkara. And like Ami said likeness attract likeness

I am not saying that Ishkara cannot become a great pair. There are other aspects in a tv pair like the chemistry which can be utilized. All I am saying is that in all possibility they can also be the worst pair. Om is a man driven by deeper motives which Ishana cannot even dream of. The wave length of their thinking is different. Which in real life could cause a lot of problems mind you.

Since this is a soap all would be well.

She is a theif that is your problem.
Her father has 3 crore debt . how will she pay of.
You said she has zero dignity and like svetlena.
If she was like that she would be seducing some rich man like tej and her fathers debt payed off.
She would give her self to gundas that would be more easy way.
Another option she need to beg for money.
That would make things more worst.
Will be you be happy if ishana begged before to pay of her debt.
Just one science with riddima and om is happy
Great observation.
Ishana may be con girl that does not mean she is a bitch with no self respect.
If she want money she had many wrong options which she didn't choose.
So she may or may not suitable for omi but she is a good person

I don't agree with the whole similar in common people not making a good pair or not enjoyable to watch I can name many couples in which both the girl and boy perfect.
Prem and Heer from Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil both have good hearts Prem isn't a typical angry young man or a jerk but Ekta ruined them after while but till today they're still one of my favorite couple of all time Viren and Jeevika from EHMMBH are good together too I also liked Rahaat and Haya from Qubool Hai until Gul ruined them and many other couples in Pakistani drama's I watched.

I don't know if Ishana is good for Om yet or not? just let there story unfolds! It's just the fact Om looks very much in love with his girlfriend and Ishana coming between them that is worrying me. I fell Om girlfriend might died don't think she will turn negative since there isn't enough time for that because her role is a cameo.

I have started connecting with Ishana...
a girl torn between her dream and papa's big loan amount

In my opinion is Om fit for her or not this should be the game after learning her problems he should help her out without remaining in picture and on face showing no concern attitude

Yaar kya aap log Humesha OM ko aisa hi dekhna chahte ho ki koi bhi pproblem ho or wo ya to sleeping pills le le ya phir suicide try kare?
Haa uska rasta galat hai per jajba kamzor nahi.
Or Om Ridhima se utna jyada attached nahi hai kyunki agar hota to apni problems uske sath share zaroor karta.

Seriously. Show change ho chuka hai
Channel change ho chuka hai
For god's sake leave this age old argument behind.
And try to enjoy it with a open mind.
