If they kept the show in the original tone that it started with, this show could have been amazing. I mean I love the new Raja and Rani, but it's not the way I thought the story would go.

True that!! If the makers had retained the originality and if they could wait for few more months, it would have worked. But, unfortunately they ruined it so badly that there was no way to review it!! Most of us who watched this show were attracted to it bcoz of the periodic feel and the top notch performances..But, what happened with the show was unfortunate and heart wrenching
No wonder, most of the Original cast left the show as they were disappointed with the storyline!!

And, as you said the show can never be the same after loosing its periodic feel and our beloved Ranaji and Gaytri!!
