Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi - Episode 100

This has been a gradual progression in the past few episodes of the show - Neha's family - Eshwari and Dev have been trying to accept the fact that Ranveer is from a moderate background and Dev has often felt how Neha will adjust in the new environment.

Eshwari and Sona have constantly said that Neha has to be aware and accept that her life will be different in the new famliy and surroundings. All this is ok.

However during shaadi it is the right of the birth family to give gifts to their daughters. The mention of daheej / dowry was totally not there in the show and this is good in a way - but does this mean that dowry is no longer a problem in the society? As far as I am aware this issue still exists and there should have been at-least a few dialogues that either that Dev and Eshwari ji do not intend to give dowry or Ranveer's family does not wish or ask for anything in the form of dowry.

She was given some jewels - but it is very common for the birth family to give more in the form of investments or even flats. How can Ravneer steal the right from Neha to accept gifts from her birth family. This is so un-fair!

In a world where we are trying to progress toward man and woman equality - how can Neha be subject to such compromises just to satisfy Ranveer's ego?

What kind of an example is this show setting? Is the show trying to say that dowry does not exist and while such not existing is a good thing - any gifts from birth parents to the daughter is wrong? How did such a outrageous concept spring up from?

I guess it may have been the thought of a man who intends to spread such a thought in the minds of all men, so as to deprive women of their rights of love in any form be in investments or otherwise from the birth family!

The show is probably trying to set a trend that brothers do not need to do anything for their sisters and that is the right thing to do! This is indeed so ridicuclous!

How can such a thought even be said on a show and a character like Sona also supports it and even Eshwari ji too thinks it is wrong for Dev to gift Neha a flat!

What nonsense! Totally unacceptable!

Well - I may be wrong? But I am sure as hell I am not wrong...

It is the Indian mentality that is showing up in the show i feel... Or well - if I should be 'not racist' - I could say it is a conservative mentality being broadcast and influenced in a positive way - such that it looks right - and in the end it is such a wrong thought that sets ground for a totally wrong approach to life...

Totally frustrated and upset :(

Sending gifts to your sister is far different from sending a refrigerator, an air conditioner, etc. There's a point to which a gift is no longer just a "gift." It must be so degrading and upsetting to Ranveer to witness the arrival of such lavish gifts into such a humble abode. Family has all the rights to send gifts, but a fridge is not a gift...
